Miles is lying on his bed, exhausted and emotionally drained after being laid off. His phone rings. It’s his dad.
Miles (sighing, answering): “Hey Dad…”
Dad (voice warm but concerned): “Hey kiddo… I heard what happened at the office. You okay?”
Miles sits up, trying to sound fine but clearly not. They talk for a few minutes. Dad offers to come over and bring food since Miles probably hasn’t eaten properly. Miles hesitates but agrees.
