Sir/Ma'm, you absolutely did not contract some years long brain damage from doing weed once. No drug, not even the strongest of strong painkillers or psychoactive drugs will do that. Not unless it triggers some predisposition for epileptic episodes, or respiratory arrest leading to physical brain damage.

A change in perception, maybe. Mushrooms and psilocybin is known to have a "perspective reset button" effect on some people, so maybe you experienced something similar and are just viewing it through a lens of "drugs bad so clearly I got damaged" so you perceive it as a negative experience. Especially since you associate THC with things like psychosis and "vomiting syndrome".

But you certainly don't have some kind of brain damage or "lasting damage" from consuming THC just once. Not unless whatever you smoked were tainted with mercury or some other really, really toxic chemical. Or you smoked it from your great-grandmas radium bong.
