I think y'all should stop pretending that the MALE sexual role of penetrating (as it is in almost all dimirphic species) is not in any way related to "manliness", and how many gay men get turned on by that dynamic specifically (even if indirectly or if they don't say it in that way), and many gay relationships actually try to emulate straight relationships in that way.
It doesn't describe everyone and it doesn't really devalue anyone (you are not technically a " lesser" man for bottomming), but there is a reaaon those things get associated.
