Now I'm getting a great idea for a remake. "SOFT YAKKA" where Truck is an agender verse switch who starts a "sex positive, privilege-conscious, queer spicy content creation coop".

It all runs beat by beat like the original, except they do a land acknowledgment at the start of each shoot, Truck keeps all the proceeds for some unclear inclusion reason, and the whole thing collapses due to major health&safety and labour violations. Oh and Skunk NEVER gets off, but he sticks around because he's responsible for Truck's mental health.

Ignoring the feminism discourse, my biggest complaint is how out of character it is for Skunk to be okay with this. He's the reasonable one, does he have literally ANY opinion on how practical it is to murder a CEO and take his company without getting caught? Any opinion on ANY of this?

Nah. This is one of those things where the author desperately wants their themes and world views to take front and center of the story, even if they need to make their characters behave out of character to do so. Even if the plot gets derailed, it doesn't matter to the author. What matters is the message they want to get across. It sucks, ngl
