So faf made this comment as a response to someone asking if the comic would be released to the public:
We have no plans to release the comic for free. When we started this project we were happy to post the comic for free at a delay, but we got so much abusive contact from sharing sites and people joining just to share the project, telling others not to join, or insulting and threatening team members... We warned that sharing the Patreon content would mean we'd slow down public releases to protect the integrity of our Patreon rewards, sadly despite warnings that the public site would suffer, people kept sharing the content until we were forced to make it private only.
The sad fact is that every time someone shared art we lost a significant percentage of our supporters, which meant we could make less pages of the comic for ANYONE to see. Since making the comic private only, we've doubled the amount of pages we can make a month!
We're happy to give previews of one of the pages we make each week or so, so people can see some of the content and choose if the story is right for them to subscribe to buy, but with all the nastiness and arguments about how we should be making it for free, it's not really in the cards any more to post everything publicly - we're a team of people trying to make a living after all.
For folks who're able to join our Patreon and private server, the comic will be there for you :) After this project the next one will be only for Patreon supporters, just like some affiliated projects that we share exclusively through our server, and only for people who have already been subscribed to CATastrophe for a significant amount of time. If you like what we do, the way to see any of our projects in Patreon, the free galleries are advertisements and previews... but sadly, because of the rude and hateful actions, we don't have plans to show more than promos.
