I actually used to do a lot of hand-made 3d animation and it was a pain.
I didn't really try SFM, the program I used to use was fairly simple for it as well, SFM always confused me honestly.
From an animators perspective, if I had the ability to shit out a bunch of these short 4-10 second loop videos AND get paid a decent handful of cash for it, I would, hands down.
Would I stop commissions for a while and try to take on more personal, skill-training projects?
Yes. Because that's good for any 'skill' you might have. (I do 3d and 2d art, retired animator, I also work with simulated physics almost every day, trust me, it helps)
I feel Twitchy just doesn't really care much about going farther with the animation stuff or just wants the money from it, rather than try to pursue like.. full-length videos, NSFW or not.
Then again, this is just the view from someone who is similar to Twitchy, not someone who knows him or talks to him a lot.
For all we know he could be planning to ditch commissions and pursue SFW animation career using SFM, but I doubt it.
It's just interesting to think about, in my opinion.
