I'm friends with a few popular artists and they have this little server of less than 100 people. It started off as a friends' only server but grew more to include some other people which had common interests. Eventually Taga was added, he was extremely shy but showed us a lot of stuff he was doing and was happy to just shoot the shit with a bunch of people in the call. This was after his first dragon animation that got him all the popularity. Since a lot of up and coming and famous artists were there, I think he heeded the advice of the people in the call pretty seriously. Decided to make a Patreon with the help of some of the people in the chat that had recently made theirs. Anyway, he showed us how he made the sounds for the video (would use a dildo and literally slurp on it in front of a mic), his awesome set-up, and all that jazz. Clearly the guy knew what he was doing, he just didn't know how to monetise it all. When the chatter was dying down, him, myself and two others stayed in the call talking about how to get the word out about his art.
He told us about some projects he wanted to do but ended up scrapping, talked about what's popular and how to get the most broad-appeal while being distinct enough from others, shit like that.
Eventually it was obvious he didn't plan to do all of this for all that long. Kept mentioning he "likes the art" but is "becoming anxious from what they (the new fans) expect and want".
Only spoke to him a few times and played a few games with him individually, eventually he left the server and said bye to some of us because he couldn't manage all the stress of having so many notifications all over the place.
Hope that might help some understand the dude was somewhat fragile from the get-go. Nice bloke.
