This is going to be interesting going forward.

If Fek ever updates Rack 2 again (looking less likely by the day, but let's assume) and makes any significant changes it would more than likely break this mod. The mod could probably be modified to work with the new code, but the more shit added, the more difficult it would be to achieve full compatibility.

So then we would essentially have a situation where there's two branches of the game: The official one and this. But there's not a snowball's chance in hell Fek could begin to compete with the feature set the mod has added already.

This is basically checkmate: either he's forced to actually try in order to keep control of the project, or he officially gives up and just lets the community finish it. Granted he probably already gave up long ago, he's just riding out the Patreon money until it dries up and then he'll likely just disappear.

Which is sad because if he'd just swallowed his pride and hired on one or two people to assist him when he knew he was in over his head, the game would probably be nearing completion by now.

I haven't seen much useful ever come out of patreon when it comes to porn games. Even the "organized" ones break far beyond their promised range, like that Crisis game (supposed to have been out years ago).

I mean, you have to be a special kind of stupid to not realize that you're paying several times the value of the complete game for a game not even 1% complete.

The best - and only real route - is to change people once like Princess and Conquest and other porn games, or get over yourselves and actually go full developer like Subverse.

Yeah, it's a bit of a workaround for Patreon's rules, as the site isn't actually supposed to host porn (ha. ha. ha.)
The workaround is to have all the actual, on-screen NSFW stuff be behind a paywall, while anything SFW can be public. You can heavily censor anything in the public posts if you want, but you still have to be a bit careful.

The real cornerstone to this whole mess is that Paypal officially doesn't allow porn, BUT by having your lewd stuff behind a paywall, they can't check it themselves, and Patreon's staff kinda winkwinknudgenudge and whistle as they walk away, knowing they're taking a cut as long as you're not banned.

Thanks for doing this!

This inspired me to look up how much I gave Fek. Just about $500 over the years before I stopped pledging. He always made it clear his Patreon was not specifically about Rack and to only support him if people wanted to, but sparse reports considering the lifetime of funds that came in was too much for me to keep supporting. I'm glad to hear he supports this, but he really should have hired help. I have no idea how much progress he's made behind the scenes.

A small update for those of you not in the Dis cord server (which you should definitely join, it's a lot more active).

Some upcoming changes and features:

Improvements to the blend shapes to make the breasts, butt and some facial morphs look better.

Leggings are also on the way.

We've also been extensively reworking the base character model to fix the holes in it (long story but you can see seams from them in one of the screenshots).
This should make it a lot easier to make changes to the model in the future.

To clarify, the more defined jaws is not a change to any existing facial morph.
They are a brand new facial morph that will be able to be adjusted completely separately from the others.

I try to keep major changes to existing facial morphs to a minimum and simply focus on polishing them up and fixing any issues with them.

I played on teh mode where everything is supposed to be unlocked so not sure what the research is for. I just held the mouse button down and moved over every tile until some of them changed to a different symbol.

I swear Im not trying to be difficult here, but all Im getting for the research is chemicals and money. I don't understand the chemical thing because it seems like its just giving me back a small amount of chemicals for the larger amount I need to put in to finish a node. I do the minesweeper thing with all the different colors and complete a node but it just gives me like 200 orange chemical or whatever. No clothing research is present. Im 2.12 with the mod installed and the extra keybinds and menu notes present indicating that the mod is installed correctly. Im on the all unlock mode so I already have 10000 of each color so I dont get the point there.

Nothing new is present in the manufacturing machines either. This is confusing as fuck.

hey im not sure if the creator is still around but the mod is great, its cool to have a working playable game but i do have some issues
Tits seem to regularly sink into the ribs if they are big enough. on the player this can be counted with higher perk, but for npcs it tends to just have the sink into their chests
Embellishments cant clip into the models at all, which normally is probably a good thing but it kind of negates the point of piercings if they dont pierce.

much kudos to the mod creator. i have a humble request. i don't usually like making requests because it feels presumptuous but i like the game and love the mod and i wanna see more great stuff in it.

my jam is beefy bara dudes and i'd love it if the muscle slider could be pushed a little bit further. i don't know how much work unlocking the slider is but it seemed to work fine on tits and cock.

the problem is clipping but that's really the end-user's problem. they can have as much clipping as they can bear. but if you wanted to go above and beyond, which i totally don't demand in any way, what usually makes bigger muscles work is widening the shoulder nodes and hip nodes. this is a very imperfect fix but it alleviates some problems. we already have the masculinity node which controls shoulder width too, although it's also linked to other things.

the perfect solution would be to have brand new animations which reduce clipping (it's virtually impossible to eliminate because it occurs in real life - our bodies don't clip but they do squish into each other because they're malleable) and truly accommodate the size of the character's muscles but this is probably way out of scope unless the mod-maker is actually into this fetish.

The problem with this is that the current blend shape (essentially, a sort of 'overlay' for 3d models that decides how it transforms when you mess with those sliders) for muscle mass isn't designed to go past a certain size. If you only uncapped the slider, the model would start looking nightmarishly disproportionate (imagine blocky pecs that way outsize the rest of the body and other uncomfortable issues).

You can already sort of notice this issue if you size up a cock far beyond what was intended (the shaft lengthens faster than the head follows, breaking the model), same with breasts (they start looking angular and blocky, not to mention the physics start breaking at some point).

The best solution for this - on the character models itself at least, I don't know how it'll impact animations and physics - is to create a new blend shape that either replaces the old one (very difficult since it will have to look good at both small and large sizes) or works in addition to it (would require creating a new system that seamlessly replaces old/adds additional blend shapes as a character reaches certain size thresholds). In either case there will still be limits to what size it will look good at and you'd still see broken models when putting the slider too high.

Basically, it's a lot of work to accomodate a specific fetish.

The really sad part about this game dying is that it seems to be one of the only few that actually focuses on sex *interactions*, rather than a VN-style game or a sexdoll simulator. I mean sure, playing in VR is nice but when everyone you play with has limp-fish syndrome, it gets old quick. So, since this thread is still active, figured I'd share my findings on this because it bothered me as well.

The slit bug in v11 due to a slightly-bugged update to the "rackr_basemodel" file. One of the patchnotes mentioned a fix for "vaginas inverting themselves"(???), and I suspect that's the fix that broke slits.

As a ghetto fix, you can replace the rackr_basemodel file with the one from V10, and the game will still function and the bug will be fixed. HOWEVER, the v11 update included stuff like new species (red panda, etc), and if you try to use those with the v10 basemodel, the game's gonna crash since those aren't in v10. So, it'll work, but there's some stuff from v11 you won't be able to do. Other features like clothing work just fine with the v10 basemodel, though.

Maybe someone smarter than me who also has free time can fix it, but yeah, for the end user that could be a janky workaround if this bug bothers you.

Is there a way to turn off the quitting mechanic? It seems overly sensitive and sometimes clients quit for no obvious reason while raving on about how awesome a time they are having, or they will show as for example loving spanking and then quit when spanked even with the pain = pleasure chemical. What makes it worse is the paid research gives almost no money whatsoever, sometimes less than 10 currency. True you can just cheat for money and only use paid subjects, but I'm trying to play normally and the client quitting addition is just awful.

When he was working on the first Rack he made remarkable progress, but he clearly bit off more than he could chew with Rack 2.

I think what makes it worse is how if he just built on what he had he could be celebrated as a good success story.

I supported him for several years and stopped years ago now. The main reason being the lack of updates. At the least he should be posting some kind of information every month, but even back then he'd go months without a word. And I'd seen people defend that, as if the time to make a single post with a short update is a burden he shouldn't be expected to take when earning over 10k a month.

I am surprised so many people still are shoveling him money. I have nothing against him, but it's just a huge shame.

By contrast I've seen artists open "tip jar" Patreons then stress out feeling they weren't delivering enough despite the promise of nothing. And there's another project I follow that makes extremely slow progress but they only charge when making updates and you keep access to the new builds even if you stop being a Patron or lower the contribution.

Basically he's set a huge example of how not to do Patreon. He had a ton of good will at the start.
