Bonfire is a game where you create an character, interact with others (mainly orcs), and have sex with sometime magical results. While the game predominantly feature orcs, there is a gorilla-like race called the Iguapi that you use in your character creation and eventually meet up with late in the game. Supposedly more races are possible, but what they are is anyone's guess and it may take a while since one person is developing the game.

One of the interesting things about the game is that not only can you create custom orc (or other human-like) characters, but also can create NPCs, quests, scrolls, tattoos/skins, and so-on.

There's definitely some modding potential. So far the only mod created is Orc Follower, which is self explanatory. Unfortunately outside of the Iguapi, there's not really any anthro content in the base game at the moment. Only way to add some is to create a skin using the tattoo feature and equipping it to a character. Someone on the F95Zone forums created some, which I'll post after this.

Here's some of the tattoos, created by Kryostar/Thassia Faune. There's a tutorial on creating and adding them on the wiki. You'll probably need to mess with the skin colors to match what you're going for.

That was my fault. While there's a gorilla-like race, I didn't think the mods would've been fine with a game mainly about orcs since it's not exactly furry. Seeing what's been posted lately, I doubt they care.

As for game mods, the only one I've seen besides Orc Follower is Helperbot, which uses what's in the game already. Looks like Hogswild doesn't want people messing with the code and assets which is probably why not much is happening. The two mods I mentioned are in their Github.

Development feels pretty... aimless at the moment. I personally would've focused on completing the main story first, and then adding all these additional elements that let the community create their own stuff.

This. The last major story update was I think a year ago and he seems to be working on everything but that. Stuff like multiplayer and VR are completely unnecessary right now.
