Not sure if it's worth mentioning, but JJ decided to throw another fit about "The Thieves" on his DeviantArt journal. He's admitted there's little he can do about it, pointing out how his paid comics and his Patron content leaks inevitably, but has settled for passive-aggressive grumbling about it, and support from his DA watchers.
He accuses the leaking sites of "mental gymnastics," so I won't entertain his notions in that field, though it would help if his output didn't fluctuate between "actually hot" and "derivative." It's a bit of a gamble if you're getting a genuinely interesting comic, or a variant of some plot he's done a couple times already.
Acknowledging, however back-handedly, that leaks are just inevitable, he's probably hoping to appeal to people's better nature to just pony up the two quid every so often. I don't know what to tell him, since any method he could use to deter this will end the same way. A subscription method, like what Slipshine uses, might be effective, but really, that's just another form of his Patreon page. A year-end bundle of all the year's comics might be nice, but he'd certainly rather not have the things all leaked at once... or want to sell them at anything resembling a discount.
Still, cognitive dissonance is cognitive dissonance. We'll see how it plays out.
