As I said, it was more than a stretch that I mentioned that. And honestly I felt some stupid need to explain it. So no excuses there on my end.
What I liked about Nightshade's early pred behavior was that she could eventually push Pat to a point that he'd take charge in sex. Which was cool when he did. I like them as a couple. Always have. And admittedly I also do miss when he and Puzzle got intimate. Were it not for the retcon, I'd have figured they simply stopped having sex when Pat started dating Nightshade. Though I suppose it'd be awkward for them since Puzzle and Nightshade are semi-close friends. It'd be sorta like your current girlfriend being close friends with your ex girlfriend kind of thing.
I also like Kadath's current style. But he went through a period for a while where I didn't like it so much. After the retcon and some other drastic changes, suddenly Nightshade looked a bit cartoony, Puzzle's neck was too short for a giraffe, and some of the character traits I'd previously liked were gone. Now Kadath's art style is more advanced, Puzzle's neck has been re-lengthened to what it was before the retcon, and other characters are being expanded on. I kind of like how Diamond is into retro video games. But my current favorite Kadath character is Dynamite. I find her funny. Especially the scene where she had derp eyes.
While that is true, many people can't help but get too involved with comic characters they like. It's similar to someone would get involved with a TV show like a soap opera. I've noticed this is especially the case with stuff from Jay Naylor.
And being someone who draws anthro NSFW comics myself, I can't help but overthink characters. My mind tends to overthink such things constantly. And I really don't know why.
I know Nightshade is loyal to Pat. I've noticed she's not the type to be interested in a millionaire type of guy because she doesn't want a hollow relationship. Honestly I think she likes Pat because he brings both mental and financial stability to her wild behavior, he lets himself be easily dommed by her (Even though he really doesn't have to), and he's not to shabby when it comes to sex. The only thing I fear is that one or both of them may have commitment issues. I know Puzzle doesn't, because the one time it was brought up she nearly smothered Diamond.
And speaking of Diamond, I know her and Nightshade have a hate/hate relationship. And I've always wondered if Pat was the reason why. In one scene Diamond was shown to be spying on Pat and Nightshade having sex through a window with a really pissed off yet slightly jealous look on her face. And on top of that Diamond writes erotic fanfiction with Pat and Puzzle in them. I wonder if she had the sort of idea of them being a sexy trio of sorts like in Too Much To Handle. And Nightshade got in the way of that. I also remember in Too Much To Handle she seemed jealous when Pat came inside of Puzzle and not her. So their might be something deeper rooted to her character Kadath hasn't explained yet.
