News flash, world has functioned since before recorded history on prejudices. Problem exists when we act upon observations, not making an observation. Keep in mind prejudices are the survival factor that has allowed various species to survive to this day, knowledge is knowing the validity behind the prejudice. Your understanding and your examples are based on Experience and Reason. Not picking up a hot glowing chunk of metal because it will hurt you is simple logic. But for the latter part about RapeyMcNoncon... I think you're misreading the situation because you dislike the butchbear, Gabe(?). The two are obviously lovers considering their dialogue, they've done it before and dog(?) Liz(?) is bringing Gabe home to show the family.

Sure Gabe did a surprise grope in Page 3, but was leading up to that with Page 2 dialogue. Liz immediately considered and didn't state any resistance after the initial shock. I'm not saying consent would be automatically implied. But Liz had every opportunity to resist, or say no, and shut Gabe down.

Would there have been this much of a discussion if Gabe were male?

That and honesty about the situation. Though being honest would require being aware you can still be aware and not honest.

I like some NC stuff but I had an artist try to bullshit me about how it's not actually NC when every one of their fans knew it and it really killed all of their stuff for me. It felt more like they wanted to protect their image or not wanting to acknowledge their character was a bad person in the story, as opposed to actually not thinking it was NC.

I think you missed the general concept that it was not the characters weight that was in question, but the style that they are drawn. I've seen some chubby girls that look fantastic.
