As has been pointed out, Trevor and Jaq painted the spots on the eggs. Jaq stated in an earlier comic that if they are pale blue they are unfertilized, but if they have red spots it’s time to build a nest. Fertilized or not, Jaq’s species lays one to three eggs per month and she has been known to use the eggs for pranks, including terrifying a boyfriend and threatening Shayla with an omelet.
As for her accent, Jaq and her family are from the Louisiana bayou. Their accent is Cajun, hence the occasional French inclusions.
