Recently came up with another plot for a new story after watching episode 8 of "Velma", but also a combo of the "X-Men Evolution" episode 'Retreat' and the famous camping episode of "The Simpsons" Season 1 series, both of which involve the mistaken identity of Bigfoot.
PLOT The story mostly revolves around Richard's parents Rainflower and Conrad, planning on a family camping trip up into the local wooded mountains. This is because they pay an unexpected surprise on Sabrina & family, and are overwhelmed by all the action figures and computer gear, not to mention Danielle's lack of attention to them. They recommend Sabrina and Richard get away for a few days out into the wilderness, away from all the hi-tech gadgetry. A weekend camping trip was the best answer, though Sabrina's not too keen - especially when Rainflower suggests inviting all of Sabrina's family and any friends she chooses. The thought of being in a tent with ZigZag is enough to put Sabrina off the whole idea, but to have Tabitha, Timmy and Danielle in her company was too much, despite the fact ZigZag knew how to behave around the kids. Her worst fear is for ZigZag to meet her in-laws and go all out on a hippy-type skin-fest, and almost egging everyone else on to do the same. She tries to avoid asking her parents to come along, but Conrad and Rainflower had gone ahead and asked them anyway. None of Sabrina's family had actually gone camping before in their lives, but are willing to take a shot at it. It just so happens that Richard's parents had a cabin up in the woods, where it would be perfect to get back to nature.
Naturally, Sabrina doesn't ask ZigZag at all, because she doesn't want Danielle to be badly influenced by her boss like Tabitha was when she first visited the studios. But then, ZigZag's having problems of her own; all the raw powerful lust has gone from the studios. As has inspiration in the script-writers. Nothing feels natural anymore. No matter how hard everyone tries, their animal passion doesn't feel convincing - even the understudies aren't faring any better. Poor ZigZag doesn't know what to do.
On the morning of the Friday of the camping trip, Sabrina and her family reach the cabin, where Richard's parents are already waiting for them, they find out they're not staying at the cabin as there wasn't enough room for "all their guests" as Rainflower put it. Before Sabrina can figure out what she meant, when ZigZag turns up, much to Sabrina's horror and chagrin - along with half the Double Z Studios team!
Seems that whilst Sabrina had purposely not asked ZigZag to come along, once again, it turns out Rainflower did, after coming across ZigZag, who was laying in the park, looking for a solution to her problems. After listening to ZigZag's troubles, Rainwater also suggests a camping trip might be the thing her staff need; a chance to get back to nature and really feel at peace with the world. ZigZag becomes keen on the idea and hurries off to sort things out at once. So now, Sabrina's stuck in the woods surrounded by her boss's workers, her parents and in-laws, and feels things are only going to get worse.
Tina brought the Double Z crew up in the studio's RV, a 12-wheeled Ultimate Behemoth - that is more like a motel on wheels - , which is often used for outdoor location filming, and offers that if the cabin ran out of room, the RV would provide the rest, along with all mod-cons - including satellite TV and a working toilet. Sadly, Rainwater tells Tina that the RV's no good as it's too wide and heavy to go along the trail they're about to take, and mod-cons are a no-no. The other rules are simple; No phones, no Wi-fi, no iPads, no modern devices (cameras are okay, though) and the only gadgets that'll be at their disposal are torches, a Primus stove and Swiss Army Knives - to which Sabrina also adds to ZigZag of No Streaking, No Love-Making, No Tent Orgies, No Nudity, No Fondling, No Swearing, No using Field craft to trap lovers (like a snare trap with the victim's dangling upside down), No Faking Injuries in order to get groped, No Erotic Pictures, and swimwear or underwear must be worn at ALL times (if they want to go skinny-dipping, then do it at night after the kids are in bed and on their own time), but none of these rules faze ZigZag in the slightest, so off they all set.
Conrad and Rainflower lead the way with various camping and hippy-type crafts from their childhood days, knowing that they're still being used today. They also do sessions of yoga and mediation and letting nature speak to you, thus clearing the mind and broadening the mental horizons. The funny side of the sessions is that during the first sunrise mediation session, Endora's back almost locked when doing the Downward Dog position, Sheila and Hoss nearly tied themselves in knots (individually, mind), Stacey & Tracey got plaited together, Darke sat on a nettle patch and ZigZag's chest kept hitting her under the chin (though she's not put off by this). However, it certainly becomes clear that not even the Double Z crew know much about living in the wilderness, and a treating it more like a game than an experience.
Throughout the weekend, Sabrina goes through Wi-fi withdrawals, and at the end she's in worse state than she'd been after Danielle was born. Danielle isn't as effected by withdrawal symptoms, but still seems to be uninterested by the whole thing. Still, both Danielle and Tabitha keep Sabrina on her toes as she has to keep them both away from falling down rabbit holes, wandering off too far, to dangerous plants and insects like poison ivy, poison oak, chiggers, snakes and ticks...though most of the time, Sabrina's imagination is running away with her.
Hoss carries most of the equipment, so his great strength is very useful, but on the way up he accidentally wanders through a patch of poisoned oak, and spends the rest of the trip slathered in calamine lotion.
Warren falls victim to hammering the tent pegs into the ground (hitting the back of his hand or thumb with the rubber mallet), and even end up rigging the beach tent to be used for food-storage inside out. He also brings along an old-fashioned spray-gun to help keep the mosquitoes away, but him spraying it into everyone's faces gets on a lot of nerves.
Endora doesn't do much, but sits around keeping watch over Danielle and Tabitha whilst Sabrina's busy, or the cooking, though Hoss wonders if she's pining for her draining board as she'd come along on this trip in her chapel hat.
Sheila is wearing a very skimpy girl guide outfit (that consists of a tiny shirt with a large underboob window, very thin suspenders, a sash decorated with made-up badges, and the smallest pair of hotpants Sabrina's ever seen) and, thanks to her bimbo-ness,is completely at a loss with everything, but continues to have fun with it; her tent collapses in on herself as she struggles to put it up 4 TIMES over, makes giggling remarks over how rude some of the camping-related words sound, such as 'erect a tent' or Richard saying 'Best let the men pitch the tents' and he doesn't see the funny side of it, she gets entangled in the hammock till she looks like a salami in a deli window, she drops freshly-struck matches when making campfires, nearly uses paraffin instead of water to put the fire out on the 2nd night, overdoes the marshmallow roasting and accidentally sets Darke's tail on fire.
Stacey & Tracey try their best, but they keep sneaking off to have a few romping sessions of their own in the woods. Unbeknown to our band of campers, they're actually a few miles south-east of a regular camping ground, and the noises the Skunkette Sisters keep making are wafting towards this camp. The giggling make the children there think it's fairies, especially when the two skunks are seen flitting between the trees, like a pair of ballerinas, in some woodland-type bathing costumes they brought with them from the studios and wearing crowns, garlands, bracelets & anklets of flowers, but the sound of their love-making at night (as they slip away to do so, thinking they're obeying Sabrina's rules) unnerves everyone else. This makes them think that there's a wild beast nearby - which isn't helped as the sounds appear to be getting closer...
Tammy doesn't do too bad, as she's more down-to-earth, so her woodcraft and nature studies easily pay off. They also rub off well on ZigZag and Tina, both of whom seem to be slowly getting their artistic muse back.
Darke doesn't appreciate the natural marvel, and is not comforted or relaxed by the power of nature. She spends her first night tripping over tent-ropes and getting the tents mixed up, which almost has her dragged into Conrad and Rainflower's tent for a loosening-up party- which in turn has her almost running for the hills.
Ghost stories around the campfire also an awkward moment; Sheila overreacts at the wrong moments with everyone's stories and doesn't pay much attention, and later can't tell a proper ghost story to save her life (because she keeps loosing her own plots), Sabrina's stories are based on episodes from every "Transformers" TV series ever made, Tabitha's are based around her childhood, Conrad's are laced with tales of Richard's childhood, whilst ZigZag's tale, which she entitled "Beauty & the Prude", Sabrina, much to her horror and embarrassment, recognises it as her first week working at Double Z Studios
What nobody fails to notice is that whilst both Sabrina's & Richard's parents camp out with them for the first night, they leave after breakfast the next morning, still leaving their tents up, and don't come back.
The incident of Sheila turning her tail into a taper is the final straw for Darke and she storms off in a huff into the night, planning on going back to the cabin. But because she left during the night, Darke can't see where she's going. (NOTE: Even thought she's a cat and CAN see if the dark, she just can't get her bearings). Because of this, she strays off the trails, which results in her falling into a muddy bog, staggering through a bramble patch, stepping onto a nest of fire ants and, whilst running away from said ants, runs into a tree, knocking down a hornets' nest, which in turn go after her, mostly stinging her in the face. So by the time she staggers upon the camping grounds, she's weary, ragged, filthy, bedraggled, deranged-looking and so badly stung around the mouth she can barely speak. This in turn makes the forest rangers, who are trying to convince the campers that there ARE no wild beasts in the area, shoot her with tranquilliser darts. The joke at this stage being that Danielle, though still looking bored throughout the whole affair is the only one who notices that Darke is missing.
On the Sunday afternoon, everyone packs up and leaves for the cabin. ZigZag feels refreshed and ready to take on the world, Sheila wants to do it again sometimes, Tina says it was nice to get back to it all for a bit, the Skunette Sister had a lovely time, and all Hoss wants to do is to get back to a nice long hot bath, even though he found it a nice experience, but could've done without the poison oak. Sabrina, on the other-hand, is the worst off of them all; her withdrawals have left her with the shakes, looking like she just caught flu, wrapped up in a blanket and on the verge of a nervous breakdown.
Of course, when they get to the cabin, they find Richard & Sabrina's parents not in the cabin, but making use of the RV's resources - including the pull-out hot-tub, where all four are found soaking in (thankfully in bathing costumes)! At seeing this, Sabrina has a total meltdown and starts ranting and raving at her parents and in-laws. She can't believe that they'd do this behind their backs. She tells Richard his parents are hypocrites, as they talk about the hippy lifestyle and getting back to earth, invite them up on a camping trip with all the suffering Sabrina's been through for three days & nights and here they are in the lap of luxury. Rainflower tries to explain that they had gone back to the cabin on account of Endora's back, but upon reaching the cabin door, discovered they had taken the keys to the RV by mistake, so instead of traipsing all the way back just to exchange keys, both sets of parents agreed it was better to make the best of the situation. Nobody of course believes that story, they all suspect that Conrad had purposely switched the keys on Tina's rucksack while everyone else was busy rigging the tents. ZigZag, however, doesn't mind they stayed in the RV, as it was meant for everyone to share, and friends and family of Sabrina were friends and family of her. This results in Sabrina collapsing from exhaustion, disbelief and a stroke (the last being her own opinion).
Setting off at once, they drive past the camping grounds, but none of them notice the KO'ed form of Darke being loaded into an Animal Control van.
EPILOGUE Darke does return to the studios, three weeks later and livid. The reason she's livid is because nobody at the studios had noticed she was missing and she'd been stuck in a testing lab, undergoing experiments and treatments of people who believed she was Bigfoot. Only Tina had somewhat noticed that it was so quiet at the studios, because Darke's cussing was nowhere to be heard, but then paid no further attention to it. The reason no one had noticed was due to ZigZag writing and filming her latest project, set in a summer camp where a sex-starved recluse, played by ZigZag herself, prays on the young girls in the campsite, as well as the buff male councillors. To Sabrina (who managed to make a full recovery of her camping trip thanks to being reunited with her computer within 2 hours of getting home), this is nothing more than a porno parody of "Friday 13th" movies - only with the gore and slashing replaced by loving and submissive sex. In any case, whilst taking a break on set, ZigZag had picked up a recent back-issue of a conspiracy magazine (which are often used for plot basis at Double Z) and saw Darke on the front cover, much to her surprise. She then phoned the lab, explained everything and paid for Darke's release. And what rubs salt into Darke's wounded pride even further is that ZigZag planned on using Darke's experience at the lab for her next project, which she's planning on calling 'Bigboob' (or 'Bigdong' should get pick a male leading role). Not sure if Darke'll ever forgive her boss for almost forgetting her, even if it was accidental, let alone turn that event into a porno, but then that's nothing new, but one thing's for certain; Darke'll never go camping ever again.
And neither would Sabrina. She felt like another weekend in a tent would kill her, no matter how much Conrad and Rainflower begged her to come along. Course, the only one pleased with the whole trip was ZigZag, who decides to make it a staff tradition, and when she announces her plans to make the next staff camping trip to Paradise Camp, a nudist camp, Sabrina runs a mile...
