This comic reminded me immediately of a girl I went to school with from 9th grade to 12th grade, she was picked on, beat up, bullied and generally treated like absolute dog shit (no pun intended) a large majority of the time. Her name was Mariam and she and her family were from Brazil and emigrated here shortly before I met her. We clicked instantly and became great friends cuz I liked tinkering with trucks and apparently so did she. I cant stand it when people are picked on like that, it really makes my blood boil and I beat up alot of people in school who tormented her. Me and her are still friends to this day 16 yrs later.
