many of the best comic artists started their first comic at this level of skill. I want to see it go through. I draw better, but every comic I have ever tried ended in disaster because I couldn't figure out how to make comics correctly. This artist at least has some kind of grasp of how comics work.

If the artist got a cheapo photo scanner to have consistent contrast/light values instead of splotchy cell-phone photos, their work will start to look much better. Y'know, that and working on anatomy/perspective (but that's something that takes time - a cheap photo scanner will give instant results).

Hell, even taking what's already been done thus far and putting it through Krita (the free Photoshop alternative) and using blender/blur tools to smooth out the sharpie work and adjusting the contrast values will make it look a lot more consistent and legible. If you layer your marker work a bit more it'll look a lot less streaky, too. You don't need stupid expensive Copic markers for that.

Also get an inking pen and a 6H pencil so it's easier to erase after you ink your work. Generally make sure you don't press too hard with just the pencil as you want to ink it afterwards. Blu Tack is a good cheap alternative for knead-able erasers.

Christmas is coming up.

Ask if your parents/friends can get you a cheap photo scanner, 6H pencil and inking pen as your Christmas gifts. Yeah, usually gifts are usually what you get instead of what you ask for, but it doesn't hurt to try.

Also, if you're flying under cover with your furry art and don't want to raise suspicions in the family, just say it's so you can scan documents for school or something.

Source: multiple furries and artists hanging out with each other at the time of writing this tl;dr who aren't just salty anons trying to knock other artists down like anons #1675289 and #1684061 due to their lack of drive and desire to better themselves

The sharpies look terrible but if this bunny gets pounded by a jackhammer until she gets knocked up then I'm down

Well, tool limitations are a thing. Sharpies can look really nice if placed down correctly.

Ignore the unhelpful spiteful shitposters, they're trying to get you to stop drawing or improving at all. Just work on layering your marker work, use an inking pen instead of pencils for the outlines, and scan your work with a photo scanner. You'll get better in time - just focus on improving your craft and ignore anyone not giving constructive criticism.

Well, be sure to keep improving. You don't need to post here specifically to enjoy making comics. There are plenty of websites less toxic than this one.

This stuff isn't my thing, and the artist needs to improve, but they're never going to manage to do that if you act like a complete prick.

Guaranteed you're also the type of person who whines about there not being enough people creating the content you want to see, while simultaneously trying to get new and learning artists to stop.

Don't like it, don't look. Offer constructive feedback or fuck off.
