larger image does not always mean better. There's so many artifacts on the image that it looks worse now.

I dont know
it did perhaps a lesser quality job on the comic but when I tried the link out it gave me some decent results!
It's a decent reverse scaling!

Perhaps the site is not up to snuff but it is a future in this technology

(uploaded my try with this)

This actually work wonders, quite amazing, now to find a non limited version of this app.

If you could use Pixelmator Pro, its ML Super Resolution will serve this purpose well without limitations.

Good choice. I used to be the OP of a thread back on 8ch that did 16x upscales with that app, paid membershiop and all. Some advice: everytime you save a pic as a .jpg the quality gets worse, this is why it's important for those who edit pictures to export the final product as .png, even if the original artwork was in .jpg format; the same rule applies here. If you upload a .jpg, then the upscaled pic will be saved in .jpg; therefore, take the original .jpg file, open it in an image editor (I use photoshop) and resave it as a .png before you have it upscaled. Also, in my experience, if you choose to use the highest noise reduction, choose to have bigjpg read the file as "photo" instead of "art" when given the choice, more details of the original pic get saved that way, the "art" option makes things look..."watery."

Good luck!

Generation loss only really shows up with jpeg when you re-compress the picture a hundred or more times over.

And the compression only applies to 8x8 blocks of pixels, so when you upscale a picture up to some mad resolution, the compression artifacts become tiny noise and the image is effectively lossless otherwise.

Well, I'm just a perfectionist.
