Regarding Katmandu, as much as I like the comic, I agree the whole story has lots of unexplained plot holes and problems like:
- The continuous art shift, especially using very low quality artists who should never have worked in the comic book industry in the first place.
- As charismatic and cute Liska is, that doesn't eliminate the fact she is a oversized Mary Sue where most of the story revolves around her, and until issue 37, she doesn't suffer anything serious, at least at personal level. To be fair, that doesn't mean that she didn't have any serious setbacks, like Rial's death or Kress' betrayal, per example, but those events weren't properly milked by the author.
-The rest of the cast is also both underdeveloped and wasted, especially characters like Hesta, almost all Liska's children, and above all, everyone from Leah and Thorin's era. Hesta, at least for me, is one of the characters who also got worse in character development, as she was obviously intended to be Liska's foil, but at the end, she ended to be just another of her personal butt-kissers.
