Wishes is one of my favorite comics by Zummeng. Plus, Shani and Darnell is my favorite character in Zummeng too. They are one of the lovely couple of all Zummeng characters. I have also modified drawings in this comics. It's because to make the character in this story more interesting. In fact, I also love drawing digital arts of Shani and Darnell only. I modified it by uploading a PSD File from Zummeng Patreon. Anyway, I hope you all like the changes I made.

Here's the problem with your comment: It has no constructive value. Your opinion whether the characters are 'generic' or not is simply that, your opinion. And you don't get to decide what is 'generic' and what is not. So this is one of those cases where if you have nothing good to say, just don't say anything.

The original comic is still out there, go look at it instead. It is a great comic that is not diminished by the existence of this variation. The guy (or girl) who edited these obviously put a lot of effort into it, and it doesn't hurt the original comic at all.

So if you can't appreciate people's efforts that aren't hurting anyone, just keep to yourself.

Really nice edits, but foxes are done to death and not really "more interesting" then how he was in the OG. What I am trying to figure out is what the purpose of this was? Going through all this effort for some reason? Zummeng has some interesting character designs done simply, but this just doesn't feel like a character they would draw themselves. Making them out to be a more "furry couple" is kinda odd and a shallow motivation to do all this. Maybe cause you love the artist and they inspire you but if you have seen their work, they do alot more then, as others have said, generic fox character.

saying they put in "A lot of effort" is akin to saying that a tin ring is worth more because someone put gold leaf on it.

The fox edit is mostly halfassed, as his colors and markings were not redone to be more in line with normal fox markings/colorings. and the rejiggering of the muzzle perspective and structure around the expressions makes it look misplaced.

Not saying that an edit like this doesn't take work, but there's a lot of it that really stands out and does the setup and story NO favors. what the editor feels is "more interesting" is not necessarily the same for everyone. and because many people enjoyed the original, an edit may not be welcomed by everyone.

To them it can feel more interesting, its personal taste after all. But the motivation to go through all this work and effort doesn't feel enough and feels bland, "more interesting", "make the couple more furry", these motivations sounds less like motivations and more like "I want it this way." Nor do they feel like something to spend a few hours on. If the person wanted to practice their editing skills or learn about the artist and their work flow, then people wouldn't feel this way they are about these edits. It kinda comes off as some sort of almost like a self insert kinda deal. A bit pretentious and "look at me" kinda way. Remember those tumblr artist that "fix" anime characters, its kinda similar to that but less blunt about it. And yes I do know they say they like Darnell, this couple and the artist, but then why change it if not to mess around and practice editing? The reasons for doing so just feel like they are not telling the true meaning of doing it. But if this is true then I wish I had this kinda drive for simple wants.

I must admit, I'm a bit confused on the point of this edit.

If it was reworking the story or something I could understand but this feels as pointless as it really doesn't add anything that the original didn't achieve.

I guess making the character another species is alright but it's as pointless as changing characters in other already established stories to have bigger junk or breast when different body types and races exist. The changes don't actually do anything note worthy.

If people like it, cool, but it would have been better time used to make an original story/series than to paint over someone else's.

All you did was piggyback on someone else's work though, yes you did an alright job editing it, but why? What is the point? I get that you're a big fan of the artist and maybe don't like the way certain things are in this comic, but why did it matter so much that you went to this much work to change it? There's a really bizarre contradiction here that I just can't wrap my head around.

Just like it's already been said as well, you've kind of devalued the original comic as well. I'm guessing English isn't your first language, because some of the dialogue is just awful.

sometimes, i understand people putting effort into "edits" because either the original creator was missing something or left something out of the field (aka picture). NSFW edits as sample...or coloring pictures.

...but WHY would you edit a FULL ON COMIC which already IS in COLOR AND NSFW?

Im serious here, even if there sure is effort behind it (at least somewhat), the time you "wasted" and edited your OC in and removed the pub hair just because you might doesnt like the original comic makes your name or anon-name, "Secret Admirer", literally a joke.

If you enjoy the comic "AS IT WAS" you wouldnt have edited it else your name cant be taken serious. Well to be fair, I mean if Zummeng really wanted to put the Editor in his Place, This technically is the Editor attacking Zummeng's Copyright, since it doesn't change the source material enough visually, and nor does it transform the general usage and message of the original art. Nothing has changed but the race of 1 character, it's still even effectively the one character. It doesn't fall under Fair Use in any form.

A lot of the other editing pictures in the other catagory, such as putting dicks on girls or turning sfw into nsfw changes the context and message of the original art.

These edits? It doesn't change enough. Still the same character, doing the same events, following the same story, under the same character name even.

Under this specific situation, Zummeng probably could serve this guy a C&D if not outright sue him over copyright.

Editor, if you have the skill to draw well enough to turn him into a fox, why not draw your own comic, with your own fox character, and not trying to take over someone else's?
