... exactly how were they expecting her to haul that home while plugged in?

Fuck dude, I'd just be psyched we got a 'free' arcade machine...

I mever understood how they got the Frogger machine on a battery to keep George's high score.

all arcade machines keep there memory when unplugged. the losing on unplugged high score is and old Seinfeld joke.

Well, not *all* of them do. Stuff from the 70s and early 80s, like "Frogger", didn't have any kind of flash-memory or battery-backed-up RAM, so they *did* in fact lose all of their high scores when you turned them off or unplugged them. It wasn't until the mid-80s or so that it was common for games to have some kind of non-volatile memory that would retain the high scores when the machine was powered down.

(On the other hand, since the "fighting-game" genre didn't really become a thing until the late 80s or early 90s... yeah, that machine ought to be able to remember its high scores. :-) )

I'm just impressed that tiger girl is carrying the thing one-handed over her shoulder like that. Those original cabinets weigh a good 250-300lbs...

In the 70's they had core and bubble memories. If you really wanted to, even a mechanical counter like in a pinball machine. Whether you had any was mostly down to cost.
