(I am neither of these posters) I think ultimately the problem is the site's upload limit of 20mb is often not sufficient for the fucking gigantic images that artists are posting these days. But part of the reason people come here is they want to see leaks of the full res, so reducing the resolution is the one change you can't make to make it fit.

I do think lowering the quality in such an obvious and noticeable way is also bad; in that case you may as well just upload it as a jpg instead of a png. That does deserve to be corrected maybe just a little less rudely, but then again this guy was given like 3 different chances too

I'm with you, I see absolutely nothing different between the duplicates. Unless it's a file size thing, in which case it apparently gets reduced when you post it here anyway, so what we're left with are duplicates of several images that nobody asked for, just taking up space. And he doesn't even label the duplicates as Macro, so we can't just use the tags to get rid of them.

It's a good comic, but it's really annoying having to scroll past the duplicate pages just to get to the new ones. Is there any way we can get this cleaned up a bit? If the duplicates are in High-Def and that's what you want, then fine, but label them differently. Or just upload them yourself in High-Def from the start.

2) I'm looking at it on my PC's 42" monitor, and again it looks perfectly fine. In fact, it looks exactly the same. If the only way you can tell the difference is by 'zooming in', then it's perfectly fine as-is.

The speckling does look shitty if you're zoomed in enough to notice it, though it's not really visible at normal sizes. I'm puzzled by how it wound up in a PNG, though. The point of PNG is that it's a lossless compression, i.e. the picture should be pixel perfect to the original. Is someone taking the original PNG, running some kind of lossy compression, and then re-saving the result as a PNG?

The artist is publishing with virtually zero PNG compression. Each image is >20MB. PNG is incredibly complex and versatile, and there are hundreds of ways any image can be encoded, most of them losslessly identical to each other.

The poster of the damaged images is converting the PNGs from 24-bit RGB color, to 8-bit paletted color, so every pixel in the image can only be one of the 256 pre-determined colors.
