So far, there is no concrete scientific evidence that humans have pheromones like other animals, and their existence is still debated. It is theorised that humans can detect certain chemicals and react to them. However, no study has been able to isolate them.
There has been some evidence that suggests that in the womb, a fetus possesses a function VNO (vomeronasal organ). However, as it develops, the organ begins to atrophy, and once born, humans have only a partially functional VNO. It is currently suggested that the reaction to chemical scents, musk, and such is based primarily on the individual. Just as the smell of something one person may find pleasant, another person might find it revolting.
