Loko has become stagnant. His faces are mostly still accurate to Disney and I appreciate the colored lines as well as the texture he uses in them. But he's been doing that from the beginning, and the actual anatomy of his characters hasn't gone in a particularly great direction. He's not making good choices that complement the style of the faces he's emulating. Look at the joints of most of his male figures and you'll really see how they aren't placed with realism in mind or a nice stylized approach that would meld well with the more cartoony faces. The result in my opinion is pretty well done faces on top of off putting doll like bodies. They feel stiff, they are lifeless, Loko needs to broaden their horizon and get some good practice in with gestures and lines of action to get some energy into the figures. This next bit is more subjective i think but the direction to make the characters all dummy thick is fine, it's not my cup of tea, but looking back at what I said before I think he's walking a tight rope between realistic bodies and cartoon abstraction poorly. They are articulated enough to show collar bones, elbow joints, bits of tendon here and there with the line work but they remain so cartoony in shape and proportion that these two directions are not harmonious in the final art. If you want to draw thicker characters with realistic landmarks in the frequency that loko is drawing then maybe take some more real life approaches to the characters as well so the giant titts and rounder bellies are more believable, add more rolls to the sides of the abdominal area, play with the shapes of the characters silhouette rather than keeping these cookie cutter hourglass shapes. Conversely if you go in the opposite direction, embrace the more abstracted direction inherent in cartoon figures. You don't have to notate every bone or landmark on the figure with cartoons just the overall shape. I suggest that if he were to go more toony with how he fleshes out the characters, the proportions and simple silhouettes would compliment the lack of articulated anatomy.
Basically he's walking a tight rope at the moment and needs to lean one way or the other because right down the middle of these 2 directions just isn't working for the type of rope he's chosen. Go further with abstraction or articulate more with precise anatomical landmarks.
As it stands I don't know what he's doing. This comic is dragging on and on and it seems to be introducing more characters into it for the soul reason of dragging things out further. The little lion dude could have banged the milf chick by now if we didn't have this blue idiot bringing ol girl into things.
Making comics is one of the hardest things to do imo, it's up there with animation and story telling in general, you have to consider so much more when laying things out than typical one off images. That being said they need to prioritize wrapping this shit up. I don't know what this autistic shit is with balloons and keyblades lately but it needs to stop. If you have to do commissions to support yourself between comic uploads, maybe don't alienate your potential audience and the rest of your current audience with such ridiculous pieces.
Just my take, sorry for the rambling. I'll fuck off for now.
