Taken directly from Wikipedia's list of common misconceptions: Pregnancies from sex between first cousins do not carry a serious risk of birth defects: The risk is 5–6%, similar to that of a 40-year-old woman, compared with a baseline risk of 3–4%.
Since the risk of birth defects is the main, and only real logical, source of anti-incest thinking, it's not as "squicky" as most people assume. Besides, as long as proper measures are taken to avoid pregnancy, same as any other couple not wanting an unexpected pregnancy, then there is no real logical reason to avoid incest, aside from personal preference, just like any other sexual pairing.
