Yeah, this should be something to witness. A semi-SFW comic by Trunch- I MEAN, GrimArt. The human character is 11 years old so that's why this is here. Yes. She kept it a secret for a while, but then people noticed the similarities in art style and figured it out (mainly because people thought she was trying to steal the style of another artist whose name evades me). As far as I know, she hasn't come out and admitted it yet; she kinda stopped drawing erotica as Trunchbull due to her job but now draws it under GrimArt.

I really like Trunch, and mostly find she's handled drama pretty well. But lately I find she's been fishing for issues that she herself creates.

She's been working on Turn You for years now, and only when she was well into it did she say at some point something along the lines of "I've been getting a lot of requests for commissions regarding costumes absorbing or transforming their host. Please do NOT make these requests. I find the subject matter very disturbing. I created Turn You to help me deal with those issues." She creates a comic that will send costume-TF fetishists over the moon... as her way of sending a message that costume-TFs are wrong?

And now she's doing the same thing with cub content that's clearly going to get a rise out of cub-fans. It reminds me of when Hardiman started drawing cub art with a cub that was actual a succubus who would kill rapists. Yeah OK I get the message, kill people with a subverted form of that which they desire. But you sure are drawing finely detailed cub art there... For 90% of the comics it just looked like normal cub smut. Off hand it just looks like they really are into it, but they sort of hate themselves for it. So they come up with a last minute "oh but actually this is admonishing this sort of fetish. It's not celebrating it."

Maybe I'm just especially deviant and I see smut where there is none, and this is actually just a moral message in comic form.

I get where you're coming from, writers and directors often have to choose ways to depict harmful sexual content in a negative manner. Usually, the first thing they do is NOT make it appealing in any way. It's almost like common sense. Don't make murder look cool, if you hate glorifying it. Don't make rape look sexually appealing, if you hate fetishizing it. If you hate something, DON'T make it look attractive!

Now we have the same problem here. Sure the explicit bits are just off panel, but why go through the effort? The panty shot is still highly suggestive and the fursuiter's mask have borderline cute expressions. At the moment, it's a coinflip on whether or not this comic's message will get lost. At least it's got a bit of a creepy vibe going for it.

If this is a PSA I don't think Trunch is trying to sexualize the fox at all. Even with the panels with the panties and out of shot bits, it's the context around it that should have people thinking about fapping to the stuff.
It seems like a comic made out of catharsis than just a "Don't do this okay but I gave you a shota comic to fap to". Sometimes people write/draw stuff that happened to them so that they really understand what they gone through, which fiction gives a good chance to be a "bystander" so to speak, as those being groomed (unfortunately) usually do not realize what's happening to them until after it long happened. At least that's what I think it is, as I've seen folks write fics of similar and they aren't glorifying it in any means.
The fox having "cutesy expressions" doesn't mean anything either, groomers have a thing of being kind and friendly just to be a kids friend and get them to trust them. And as for the creepy vibe well, consider the context of the comic, that seems to be the point, to creep one out and see that doing that is wrong. And unfortunately, there are a fair share of people like this within the furry fandom, not all of it or the majority, but a fair share of bad eggs, some more subtle and easier to hide than others.

Fapping to cub art is one thing as those are pixels, going and actually grooming someone is a whole 'nother thing and is a crime that will get you beaten in prison.

With that being said, I wanna see more, just to see how the subject is being handled as this is the first sort of comic in this I've seen. And judging by what I've seen noted, the comic will get lighter only to get past the boundaries of dark later.

With whatever grimart is trying to accomplish, I'm just as interested as you on where this will go. That's why I was glad to see the comic even had this creepy tone to begin with, it shows the artist trying to make a commitment to not muddle their message or intentions. Also, I agree that cutesy expressions aren't a definitive way of making the fursuiter seem less repulsive. Niceness can be a facade. Nevertheless...

I didn't consider very much that this comic could be a form of control or understanding for the creator, though personally, It's surprising they made a possible coping mechanism both public and cautionary.

This could be a weird trainwreck or something that could surprise us (in a good way).

It's less weird when people just do freaky art for the sake of freaky art, because I think most people are able to create a clear separation. "Here is some snuff smut about people getting their head chopped off" There's an unspoken agreement between the creator of the smut and the fans who fap to it that yes it is super weird, yes we should never do it IRL, but it gives us a happy boner so we are comfortable fapping to it.

Grim looks like she's intentionally blurring that clear separation. She creates this comic, posts it to (among other galleries) InkBunny, which is all about sexualizing cubs. Then acts all high and mighty when people are like "I am going to fantasize about this predatory female fox sitting on the kid's face and power humping him until he's transformed into a cute fox cub". If you want to keep it purely introspective and avoid the horny crowd, then why not post it only on galleries that have less of an inclination towards the pornographic side of furry art. Like DeviantArt or something.

As someone who has either witnessed or heard recollections of her rants, for lack of a better word, this is absolutely true. While she has brought up valid points with many of her arguments aimed at the fandom, she lacks discipline and tact. Many of her artistic works and social actions in the fandom have been more psychological research than actually being part of the community, which she has admitted to. She cares more about telling her message than letting her art do the telling.

I get that folks even at rather young ages can get into masturbation stuff (I did when I was 12, as hormones kick in and all), but that's usually of their own doing, genuine curiosity about the body and whatnot.
So the fact that an ADULT is telling the kid to touch himself makes it more horrifying.

One thing I noticed as I read the comic's current pages is the "background" of it. By that I mean when the disturbing stuff is on-screen as it were; the fox showing porn to an innocent kid, showing/touching her genitals in fromt of him, and when he touches himself, the bg gets darker and turns black, and shifts back and forth. Usually the kid has a white bg on his end excluding his first exposure to porn, and when he touches himself on command, whereas the fox when in the midst of grooming mostly has a black BG, instead of the "innocent" white one the kid usually does.
In fact, that can apply to the fox's speech bubbles as well. The very moment she threw out the very first sign of grooming ("This is only for you, don't let your parents know about this"), her speech bubble turns from innocent white with black text like the kid to black with white text to signal something not good/dangerous. Something as simple as "What makes you feel good?" can be vague and innocent enough to get an innocent answer ofc (Like petting your dog or snuggling a childhood plushie are things that make people feel good and is innocent). But when it goes into "This is what WE do to make eachother feel good! In fact I can make you feel good, wanna try it???" it is basically a nope and thus the speech bubble is dark.

It's a subtle yet noticeable way to set the tone.

See there is a huge chunk of irony by adding "common sense" into what you wrote here, cause you see, to generally all people its common sense that rape is bad, that murder is bad, that negative things are negative.

What makes this kind of infantile, typically sjw type of thinking is not that you cant even figure out that most people are perfectly aware of a negative thing being negative, but also that you see value in asserting yourself, injecting your person into it and waving this around as some sort of virtue signal flagpole as if you figured out some grandiose truth about the world: "Maybe if portray negative things negatively, without shading, nuance, or anything, just as black and white like the dumbf* i am, then nobody would do it".

So I wonder if she's taking that side story idea from Mindes and put it on Leto in terms of a general overarching plot. Maybe it'll even end in that way, as the graph for how the tone is throughout the comic does have the line rising back up after everything went to shit. That rise maybe being Leto going to get the therapy he needs, especially after the added trauma of seeing his father (Not even gonna acknowledge the "mother") die.

Reading through the comic, I'm nothing like Reth. It's completely illogical of you to assume my character based on a single opinion. Hell, I'm only on /cub/ to read this comic. Hang up your hat, detective.

Regardless, this comic seems to point the finger at the gun, not the murderer. The entire situation could've been avoided if sex wasn't demonized and taboo. Proper sexual education begins early, so kids can avoid shit like this. Ultimately, the fault lies with the parents, and obviously, the "groomer". I feel like the fox character's actions are left somewhat intentionally vague, so that it seems like porn is the problem, and not cyclic repression of sexual urges and feelings.

Anyways, it wasn't all bad, and artistically, it's definitely passable. I just feel the message is clouded, and mostly lost on people like myself, who don't demonize sex or it's cultures.

I think the actual influence bit was meant to be minor and now we're seeing the ride on how it affects him as a whole throughout his life, as it's not just something that goes away and all. Iirc, he's showing signs of hypersexuality and whatnot affecting his way of thinking in the world (and as we see here it's affecting his relationship with his friends) and everything else in his life pushes him to "escape" through porn.
I imagine had Leto just stumbled onto porn by himself he wouldn't be the way he is compared to when someone showed it to him and made him do things alongside it.

Not really when you consider how this parents emotionally abused him throughout his childhood, and then how his mom went so far as to assault him and attempt to murder them all. Leto has no idea how interpersonal relationships work at all. He is broken, and yes, Reth's influence caused him to seek relief through sex, but she's not ultimately the cause of his emotional and mental instability.

This feels more like a woke SJW's interpretation of how groomers function vs what they actually do. I did read the entire comic.
Reth's been a figure of his life even if it's spotty, she still has a massive influence in why he's the way he is, and now she's returned to influence him into the darkest shit imaginable (Child Porn) and using shitty tactics to entice him (I.e Rape victims writing and drawing dark stuff as a means to cope and understand what happened to them from a different PoV/using a medium they're good at to work through trauma, and trying to groom him into liking child porn). She's STILL grooming him as you can clearly see in the recent pages, grooming doesn't end the moment someone hits 18.

Iirc, some is based off the artist's experiences and some are not. (Some are from others and I think some are more fantasy) She's revealed that the only things that are directly from her life is the involvement with the parents, the child grooming by a furry (That fact we knew of earlier in the comic's production), and some minor things like Sam and Howl forgiving Leto's BS (Probably in relation to her own friends, but I won't dig into that.)

Other than that, seeing as Grim doesn't show herself to be as screwed up as Leto here now, I'm doubtful she's projecting her experiences onto him here anymore. Leto was never her self-insert.

My partner got mad at me for not including a 'what if' at the end, so have it. There are two possible outcomes for this story.

1. A tornado occurs as Leto hangs himself. This is symbolic of the first time Leto found value in life by participating in activities outside of school, with Damon, doing disaster relief. That first disaster relief was a tornado. Leto still dies, but these last two pages are what could have been. A life he fantasizes about before death. This is the more fucked up ending because it means Damon would find his dead body during disaster response for this city.

2. A tornado occurs as Leto attempts to hang himself. Repeat of the symbolism in scenario 1. However, the tornado hits early enough to fuck up his suicide attempt, and Damon finds him during disaster relief. They get through Leto's issues and Leto's happier and these last two pages are real. I like this scenario better. It's a reminder that there is hope even in the darkest and most fucked up of situations. It'd be a jarring ending for scenario two, though, because I don't show any of the steps taken to recover from Leto's awful situation. But if he can end up OK as in these last two pages, despite all those hurdles, so can someone going through something similar. Don't give up hope. (-;

This was a wild fucked up ride and honestly I prefer the lighter ending/outcome that Grim went with.
Not gonna be able to sleep for a good while after those last couple of pages tho. IK it's a lot to ask for something lighter from Grim, but I'm still gonna ask for it anyways. Some parts of the comic were real and some fictional sure, but it was all around uncomfy and yet that was its goal, soooooo good job Grim.

I know this thread is long dead but i cannot help but feel the irony in what grim/trunch actions can have regarding her stories i know this is stupid because there's probably a disclaimer of 18+ and stuff but i remember watching trust since the very first page when it came out and i must've been just leaving 7th 8th grade maybe? Point being that her stories resonate with me a lot to the point i felt mad at her before i even knew they were trunchbull, i remember searching everywhere for info but barelh found anything, so i was like 14 at the time and looking back its a good thing the then me never saw this comic, i know it was stupid to blame her entirely based on the uncanny resemblances between her work an my life but maybe I'm just looking way too deep into it, still the fact that it was her work back as a kid that fucked me up and pretty much made an impression on me is real rich, becausd being 18 now and looking at this, i don't know wether to feel ashamed on my myself or grim is really grasp something thats slipping my mind rn
