That is significantly lower than the rates for work most artists, even a much smaller level. Of course, if his income falls, he reduces the number of pages generated. But this is not a collective punishment, it is a distribution of damage.
And it looks quite logical. Especially against the background of the fact that if funding grows - each of the subscribers gets more pages for the same price. For example, now that he has coped with attacks, paid subscribers no longer receive 5-10 pages per month, as was the case previously. Now more than a year, he creates 25 pages per month. And the first sponsors - see about 500 pages of comics. During the year he created 3-4 times more than the previous 3 years.
If you use dry math - he began to give people 4-5 times more content for the previous price of $ 3. Just because the number of people who pay for it has increased.
And it is quite understandable that none of the people is interested in making leaks - after all, this would lead to the fact that some stupid and greedy people have left, hoping that the leaks will be frequent and never stop. In this case, its funding would fall again and the remaining people would receive instead of 25 pages, for example, 20 or even less. Maybe some of them would leave after that and the funding would drop even more. But it would look more like "people punished themselves" than "the artist punished someone collectively." Show me any idiot who would work harder, longer and better, if he had his salary cut?
As for the price increase - in the past year, for its new sponsors, the price actually rose and instead of 3, 5 and 10 dollars it began to demand 6, 9 and 14. That is, for the initial level the price doubled, for the average - by 80% and for the maximum - 40%. At the same time - 25 pages per month. Who the hell is doing more at the same level of quality?
