Leaking art isn't about ruining artist. Well, most of the time. There's always the odd dickhead with an axe to grind, but the point is to let those, who can't afford to pay, still enjoy the art. The lost sale argument doesn't work (like, ever), because the people, who look for leaked content weren't gonna pay you anyway. Does anyone remember the original mission of Patreon and the other support sites? "Free art is great, but it doesn't put food on the table. Help the artist pay their bills, so they can keep making free art!" (No, that's not a direct quote.) That has morphed into reducing art into a product and slappin' a price tag on it. The problem is, when you get down to it, digital art, especially furry porn, is the worst product in existence. First of all, it's intangible. Mere data that can be replicated infinitely at no additional cost or effort. Second, it has no practical function. It doesn't even have the slim justification of "it looks good on the wall", because nobody but the otherly deranged would hang furry porn in their living room. Third, it's...intended purpose is "one and done". Even the most mind blowing piece of porn can only blow your mind once. When you revisit it, you're just remembering how it made you feel that first time. Finally, and this is the big one, there are lots of free alternatives. Not "leaked Patreon free", but actually free. So that's a hard sale, but it never should've come to this in the first place, 'cuz the point is to support the artists, not to put things behind a paywall, that used to be free! You're right, that people, who enjoy the work of an artist, should support them, if they can (emphasis on "if"). Dose, who can't however, shouldn't be treated like thieves and saboteurs and neither should the people, who try to help the less fortunate! It's bad PR if nothing else. Their financial situation could change and if/when it does, who do think they will give their money to? Hint: not the person who calls them "disgusting" and "entitled". As for criticism, that comes with the territory of every creative field, regardless of money being involved or not.
