Umm, either YOU are lying, being a total dumbass, or Kuro is lying out his ass and you're too stupid and believe him.
The original 'Excuse' was something that did happen.
A lot of Pokemon stuff, not just NSFW stuff, but even fan games, videos, and normal art got sent a cease and desist letter. This was an actual, real email people got and actually showed people, it existed. But it was a Fake cease and desist letter. Nintendo themselves came out, ousting it was fake, and were not going to take any action, cause Legally speaking they CAN NOT take any Action, do to Fair Use laws.
BUT, even when it was ousted as fake, even when it was ousted by Nintendo themselves... Kuro STILL Refused to do the Comic anymore. And that was YEARS ago.
Now, onto this excuse with a DMCA. For a Website to take it down, there has to be an ACTUALLY Legally Filed, DMCA document submitted by law. <-- This has to exist, for a Website to have proof that your claims are real, and take down the content in question. And, Kura having a Patreon with many dumb idiots funding their shit content, would easily be able to Hire a Lawyer, and Counter Sue whoever filed the DMCA Claim as a False DMCA, and most likely could claim costs in damages and force that person to pay for their lawyer and give them money they lost by damaging their brand, that is used to sell their Patreon.
.... But, no one has ever produced said DMCA legal Document, not even Kura himself, who would have been served and given a copy too. And in fact, would have probably have been dragged into court if there was multiple filed on different sites, and get charged with full on Copyright Infringement and thrown in jail.
But none of that happened, there is no record of any DMCA filed, anywhere in the legal system about this comic, the original cease and desist letter was fake, and after all the excuses and lies, in the end, they STILL never continued it, no matter how much people begged them to continue it.
The simple answer is, he used it as an excuse to just not do the comic anymore. Most likely, after the years of doing it, probably wanted to changed things around, do new storylines, make an actual story, and have original characters he could use in other situations that he could actually legally make money on.
(Him having a Patreon with this art on it, making money off Nintendo Characters, IS actually against the law, just in case any Nintendo employees are here and want to sue him for all the money he made off this comic illegal in the past).
So, either cause Kura thinks he can make a great story and so rebooted, he can't and his story sucks, or just out of greed, the most likely answer, he cancelled this comic, to start on his much more shittier one, and only now outsourcing this old one, because the new comic he created is tanking hard, not generating as much money long term, and has to trick more dumb idiots to go to his Patreon to fund his life.

It actually does matter, 100%, cause if it was Fake they MUST, legally, put it back up. Or Kura can sue THEM for not doing so, and Force them through the Courts to put it back up, no matter WHAT their Policies say, as they must comply with the Law.
