occasionally he posts some stuff like the following (attached via twitter) and links his patreon. If anything we probably can't expect a lot of new miu art unless some patreon leaks happen.

Also not sure if jam's talent show was finished and not released online or just never finished. Would love to see more smut from this dude, one of the first furry artists whose works I really enjoyed.

I backed his indiegogo for his books and one of the stretch goals was Jam's Talent Show. He has been "working on it" for about two years now. So don't hold your breath.

Thankfully, I just got the digital rewards, but apparently the physical books have been taking just as long. Even though they were supposed to be done in 2015.

Still really love his art and I know he has health issues, but damn he cannot complete a goal on time.

it took almost 3 years for the Milk and Cookies comic. 2012-2015. I get he has health problems, or at the very least, chronic fatigue. However, He constantly over reaches on his twitter.

As a fan of his, willing to deal with the slow burn, It's amazing that he has any money at all. His Patreon take home is only $500-$600. Does anyone know what he does for a living?

Yeah, he is constantly saying how hes working. Yet it seems Jam's Talent Show is not close enough to done to show previews other than rough sketches. But he'll still put out his fully rendered strange looking human art almost every other week. I assume hes just lazy and uses his health problems as an excuse to delay what hes promised.

I don't know what he does to stay afloat. He lives in Indiana with two others, from what I can tell, so maybe its cheap enough to live off of patreon and fur con money there.

I loved his furry stuff for years now, used to have a club stripes account and even put up money for this crowdfund. But damn I wish he would keep his word and actually try to deliver within a reasonable time.

Miu's style is a paradox if I ever saw one. On the one hand, his characters look very soft and plush, but the way he poses them feel very constrained and... safe? There's no energy allotted to their bodies that the loose style would have you believe they would have, same with the expressions. It's like watching a cartoon without the 'toon.'

That's part of it yes, but it's the whole body I'm talking about.

To draw comparisons, Bittenhard is a good example of an artist who has a similar relatively loose and cartoony style who packs the sort of energy you'd expect of that style into the posing and gesture of his characters.

With Miu it's like the style is there but not a lot of that cartoon pep.

In the 3 years it's taken to do Talent Show my favorite Mangeka, Kamishiki, drew 5 volumes of Nejigami Factor, 5 volumes of God's grudge, released 3 artbooks, and did about a dozen separate doujin. I think by Manga standards he has a pretty high output. I just wanted to illustrate how wide the spectrum of productivity is.

To play Devil's advocate, I at least know who Miu is by his style and remember his comics. Most manga artists share the same generic style and story telling that it barely ever leaves an impression on me, no matter how much they do.

Every preview of the comic, so far, have gone further into the comic and have gotten progressively less finished, with less being shown. I would dare say all he had back in July was only those 4 pages done. At this rate it'll be February next year before he gets this done. Anyone remember the 2+ years it took for Your Biggest Fan? Anyone else remember that the front half took like 2 years to do, and the back half took a matter of months? good work ethic there.

Early era Miu put out content often. Most of ClubStripes was filled with his work and he did a variety of features. But cracks started to show when he'd launch up various comics then forget about them.

This happened with the monster-girl comic he started - which is around the time he started trying to do SFW Peaches and Cream content which THAT webcomic got railroaded when Ask-Tumblrs were popular. Ask Jam became the new 'comic format' and updates were spotty AF.

Once the Tumblr purge happened - I think the blog almost all but stopped (though I do recall him having around 20k followers). He resorted to doing nude pinups and vague PnC content with Jam as the main focus/main character - trying to claim he put in a decade's worth of work and thus why his characters were so beloved blahblah...


Miu is kind of an annoying artist to follow because the guy has the 'uwu soft boy' persona online but is pretty cliquey and douchey IRL. I remember him e-begging during a furcon for a 400 dollar SKETCH because he wanted to party with his GF.

There was also some falling out with his media producer (Midori) they were engaged, it fell apart and he got in some polyam relationship. She was the head manager of Clubstripes (With Kamicheetah calling her boss in some suggestive wrestling picture) and I think her fractured relationship with Miu lead to it's downfall (Also see: Hot Cider).

Miu used to lead or at least headline a premiere printing/media company in the furry community and has slowly but surely fizzled out.

I guess that's what happens when you are a guy in his 40s trying hard to say relevant to your 20-something fanbase.

Oh yes and something about his limited straight art having to do with his obsession with lesbians. He had some really weird castration pictures he kept pushing so not sure if trans or not.

By November it'll be a year without any sort of 'update' on the indiegogo thing for the Talent Show. I almost want to think he's hoping to whatever bright and shiny God there is that everyone just forgets about it so he can scam the money.

Way past a couple years since i gave up on ever getting the rest of what i paid for on it. i was always leery of kickstarter/crowdfund stuff, but my ex convinced me to support Miu because we both loved his work... and of course the first crowdfund thing i ever do turns out to be a multi-year catastrophe. i think it's been what? five years since it was announced, maybe?

Same here. First ever crowd funded whatever it is and this is how it's going. Not a great impression to set and it's kept me from fundraising or crowdfunding anything else since. On a whim, I checked their twitter where they stated they'd be updated 'more reliably' or something to that effect. It's been months and not a damn thing. I think the last post was in April. This is beyond ridiculous. Wondering if we should just assume this project is dead at this point or not. Any sort of update would be better than absolute radio silence.

Six years.
As of January he's still "working on it" and "almost done."
In the time that JTS has been "in progress," I've gone to college, dropped out of college, gotten a job, quit that job, started working two jobs concurrently, bought land, sold that land, bought a house, bought ANOTHER house, and started renting out the first house. I've gone from optimistic college freshman, to clinically depressed NEET failure, to menial office worker, to landlord keeping one of his jobs almost entirely for health insurance.
I'm honestly amazed that Miu is still willing to publicly acknowledge the fact that he ever started this project.
