Doug Winger's art was good if you ignore him heavily leaning on the crutch of being a heavily-stylised cartoonist. At least Gideon's technical work has depth and consistent forced perspectives - something that Winger couldn't consistently match (and unfortunately became worse at as his illness took a toll leaving him too exhausted to work on much towards the end).
And no one cares about personal preferences. Well, you do, but it doesn't make for a valid counterargument. Humour is subjective, as are fetishes, etc etc.
tl;dr stop comparing apples to oranges and saying one is better because you personally like it more than the other (I like both artists and their work if you think I'm ragging on Winger's godly hyper art that's basically a cornerstone to hyperfur art)
