I agree that you agree with me (that sounds really satisfying, I'm glad someone read it- I worked hard on it). And you're absolutely right in hitting the major problem right on the nose, I think. In this comic, Kit is little more than comic relief (as you so simply put). In fact, his greatest aspiration seems to be nothing more than being the best blow-up doll he can. I can hope though, after this fiasco, Kit will recognize and seize this opportunity to reinvent himself into a real boy. Maybe I am being too harsh on him, though. This might be the first time in his life he felt like he mattered to someone, and didn't have to struggle to survive. We all remember how he entered the story in chapter one of this comic. If he is really interested in Rufus (hard-working, tall, dark, strong, insatiable, adorable big ox that he is- please tell me if I missed anything), he needs to prove that he can be strong enough to stand at his side- instead of whining and nagging at his back.
