It's pretty accurate imo as well. I remember my first Club Rush two years ago for freshman year; there were some cool science-y clubs I joined like biology and S.P.A.C.E, and then a couple clubs who seemed liked they were fighting to see who's name could make incoming freshman feel the most guilt-tripped into joining. I think one was "East Indian and Bengali Progression for Opressed Disabled Women in Adverse Culture" or something. Surprise surprise, it ended up being horribly organized because it was so ridiculously vague, and I'm pretty sure nothing came out of it except feel-good "vibes" and "reinforcement."

Sorry for the mini rant lol. I wanted to tell that out for a while now.

This is probably the sports nerd in me but not many swimmers do both shorter distances (100) and longer ones (1000). Also there's no 1000 meters/yards length used as an event as far as I can see. It goes from 400 yards to 1650 yards in collegiate and then 400 meters to 1500 meters in pro/Olympics.

Though 42 flat would have been the 10th fastest time in the NCAA Championships this year, assuming it's the 100 yard free since this is a college setting.

I'm not really getting the issues you guys are having with the art style. These new pages are cleaner looking than the old stuff. The body proportions of the characters are also much better.

This is probably my only favorite picture I liked out of this entire comic.

Even if its a sketch; the muscle tone here is very balanced and untainted. Balls have a nice hefty realistic feel and look to them. Generally its an over all nice scene.

However when you get to the middle page and down, you can see he starts putting in the bloatness features to appeal his audience and the muscles are out of whack and the balls grew in size. Then later on the arm size penis starts to come into play.

Really a shame such Talent has to be wasted on popularity demand. Page 18 is a mess and a clear indication on my points about over doing it.

Page 19 for all of you out there. I will agree that the characters are for the most part all really terrible people except maybe Rowen but then again he is horrible naive.

But I think if you just treat it like porn and just expect the story to be there to lead to the porn then you'll be less disappointed. It was much easier to ignore back then, yes, and getting to know all these guys' machinations and flaws in such detail is only making the comic weaker. At nearly 20 pages, all we've gotten is fanservice and masturbation (and it was done in such a way that it looks like recycled art!) to keep us entertained through the plot part, starred by characters that are extremely hard to empathize with in any way whatsover. Even the main character is kind of a shallow jerk, considering the comments he makes at the expense of the other clubs.

I have no doubt this kind of thing will appeal to somebody out there, but everything thus far transpires too much douchiness for my liking and has gone for too long, especially considering that, at this rate, whatever sequel we get to resolve this nasty scenario is going to take an awful lot of time to even get started.

For the record: No, I don't expect my porn "to be Shakespeare", but if an artist is going to take this much effort in setting up a plot and is going to make all the characters into bros and villains for his porno, then I would expect them to give the scenario some degree of nuance or suspense. Those who read the original already know how it's gonna go and this doesn't give them any vital new info, those who know it through the remake are waiting until the sex comes because the characters are nothing to write home about. Contrast with Jin's older doujinshi, where the the old-timey Japanese melodrama atmosphere, the humour, and the internal conflicts make it easier to digest the fact the characters are dumb, selfish, or even murderers sometimes; doesn't absolve them, but it makes for a more entertaining read and more interesting porn.

I should have been clearer in that I also don't think a work has to have likeable people to be great. The shittyness of some characters is extremely fun to watch because they are that multidimensional, cunning, and conflicted, and I'm sure Tarantino does A LOT with the shittyness of his characters and the world they inhabit to make his points with "The hateful eight" and the rest of his filmic career, not to mention I really doubt his characters are all shitty in the same way. Scorsese's "Goodfellas" is also about a terrible naïf in a terrible world surrounded by even more terrible people and nobody would doubt it's a classic of cinema. Even if we go to porn, Tagaki Kyou's "Trouble" series is also about a terrible main character molesting his dumb sex-oblivious friend, but it had a hook in the form of the main character dealing and trying to atone for said terribleness.

The failure of this comic is that the characters thus far are flat, arrogant and grow on the reader's patience before the actual smut comes out. They have no second thoughts, they have no doubts, and there isn't much that has been said behind their conflicting motivations besides the GSD's sheer jealously. Being with them should in some shape be interesting if the artist is dragging us through this, but these dudes are interchangeable bros and will probably remain so for the rest of the comic, since we're getting to the sex after this. And that's kind of the issue: if the point is the sex, get to the actual sex quickly, especially for a comic that updates, what, weekly, biweekly, monthly? If you want to introduce a prelude or a backstory, make it interesting as well. There is a lot of filler here and a lot of conversations that could be shortened for a comic that'll be about a public gangbang that isn't exactly the most clever or spectacular evil masterplan. In fact, I really have no idea what they plan to do with the other comic after this, have the otter take revenge on the guy by raping him? Rathermore, why didn't they get to the sequel inmediately and explained the deal with the GSD there?

It's the context given for their actions; it takes the reader right out of the mindset needed to enjoy the porn.

If this was just 'begin with otter twink entering busy locker room, bunch of big dudes all start leerin' at him and getting boners, otter lures them all back to the pool, and they fuck for 30+ pages', taking away all this other bullshit, then it'd be great IMO; I like this guy's art style quite a bit.

But showing all this other really unnecessary 'drama' crap first? These characters are scum. Beta attitude personified; no, they're not going to talk to the coach about this situation like fucking adults ('stealing' someone else's scholarship doesn't even work that way, WTF), they're going to be weaselly little bitches and try to fuck up the otter's life like they're Bond villains or some shit...and the readers don't even need to know -any- of this! It's pointless and detrimental to the focus of the piece (hot gay sex).

They're acting like unsupervised children, which is about the most unarousing thing one could write in this situation, barring a sudden 180 into really hardcore kinks like snuff or something...actually no, veering right into Saw territory would be better than this, because at least that would elicit an emotion that doesn't involve eye-rolling and complete boredom. These attempts at anything beyond the porn, ruins the porn.

If only he'd drop the petty bullshit plotline, and just show a bunch of physically attractive men indicating they are all DTF the otter (and each other, if we're gonna make this extra spicy; personally I wanna lay so much pipe in that snow leopard's ass it'd start protests from the Native Americans). But alas, that's not happening, and a fair few of us find that to be very disappointing.

What annoys me the most about this comic is not the fact that most people in there as toxic as fuck. Its the actual structure of the scholarship.

U see a scholarship doesn't work like that. Its not something taken from u out of its agreement. The school/goverment funds athletes to keep representing their teams and after the contract ends, the scholarship ends.

If Kyle is a second year in there and his scholarship lasts for 1 year, then whats done is done. There is no way an actual goverment would just cancel a scholarship for the lols.

The actual realistic scenario is that noone of them get a scholarship if Rowen misses out or that Kyle would already have a second year scholarship to begin with. He is the captain and therefore the best athlete in his coach's team. He is a valuable asset and they wouldn't risk losing him for Rowen, unless Rowen is actually so GOOD that he outshines their star instantly. Even if thats the case, Kyle is a nasty bitch really and I am sad to see this comic getting remastered. It didn't need to have a plot and I was waiting for ages to see a continuation of how Kyle and Rowen get together. I guess now, the only thing i want to see Kyle getting hurt <_<

Yeah, could be worse. Personal experience, I had an artist advertise a YCH, take money up front. They failed to fill all spots in the YCH, so they offered the YCH again on Facebook, filled all those spots and drew that one and completely ignored the first one.

The icing on the cake is that the poses for the YCH were frankensteined from other people's art.

I asked them about it 6 months later, they read the message but didn't reply, after waiting another 4 months I decided to write the money I gave them off as a learning experience and moved on.
