well for one thing. Associated Student Bodies was first published in 1990 and ran until 2000. The first issue of Circles came out in 2001.

More to that though is that ASB popularized what is now considered the generic "slice of college life" arc type in furry literature. Basically Circles wouldn't have existed in the form it is without the heavy influence it got from ASB and it is not the only one. Comics like Fur-Piled and novels like Out of Position owe Associated Student Bodies a nod.

That being said though, as a comic I have to agree with the other guy. It's Meh at it's best, painful at its worst. the characters are two dimensional, and if they ever experiences a change of character it's like a light switch off then on with no in between. the plot meanders and the character development is inconsistent, and it may be because it is dated now but the whole story seems a tad trite. It dose serve as a good history lesson though.

It reflects the style that the fandom was in back in the 90's when it was more about escapism and wish fulfillment (my god! Have you read early 90's fanfics? I wish I hadn't). as oppose to the Raunchy gratification and bittersweet endings that it currently is in.
