Chapter 12 : What I take from you
Bear wanted to negotiate a deal with Natsume(Fox) to use his power to revive his dad, as well as helping the comrade's wishes. They declined, reason being the power of wishing is a double edged sword and someone else will become a victim to their wish in 3 months time. The bull tried to get their way by getting physically, only to be stopped by angry Gramps and Nigochi(Monkey).
Bear figured out a way to extract the power from Natsume(Fox) however that means drawing out his soul in the process by using the paper knife ritual, rendering him unconscious. Gramps try to enclose the evil gang in the room and demand the bear to return Natsume's soul.
Bear teleported the whole gang to where the escape heli is but got betrayed by the gang using the same paper knife ritual. The bear's crush(the cat?) slightly remember about the bear in the middle via his scarf's smell and agreed to help stopping him with Fukuzawa(lion)
Chapter 13-Part 1 : Follow your bookmarks
The Nitobe(Gray wolf) gang found the bear stranded on the island and got him to confess everything. Nitobe was angry at the bear for ignoring Natsume's wishs and choose to hurt him for his own personal gain, as well as angry at himself for not being able to protect him. Noguchi(Monkey) had the phone call enabled the whole time so Fukazawa heard everything and understand the bear's motive, and forgives him. However grampa mentioned Natsume is dying slowly since the soul is no longer in the body. But then he realises a fragment of Natsume's soul is within Nitobe's body for some reason. Probably because of the kiss back in Chapter 9. Noguchi and Nitobe realises what this means and are sadden about what needs to be done and encourages Nitobe to do so. Nitobe revives Natsume by returning the kiss and the soul. Natsume woke up with no recollection of what happened :(
Chapter 13-Part 2 : Follow your bookmarks
Nitobe and Natsume decided to stop the gang from abusing the Wishing power and use the bookmark, an item to represent the evil gang, to teleport straight to the helicopter. Fighting occurred and Natsume managed to get his power back from the bull. Natsume then saved the evil fox from falling to death by swapping him with a pebble from the ground. When the evil gang got cornered by the two, the evil bird gave up , claiming this must be a punishment /karma from the gods, and attempt to kamikaze the heli into the mountain. Natsume again, saved the two by swapping them with an object near ground level. Leaving them stranded on the heli, Nitobe attempt to pilot heli with Fukuzawa's help but phone ran out of battery. In the mist of panic of what to do, Natsume assured that everything will be alright, and asked Nitobe about a book that he'd forgotten and ask him to remind him how it went. Nitobe refuses, and told him that he'll tell him all about it once they're back to the bookstore. Remembering the reason why he loves Nitobe so much, he give him (a kiss?), tell his I love you, and activates his gift.
Nitobe wakes up in the middle of the night and field, along with the crashed heli, tries to joke with Natsume about how fortunate they are, only to realise, Natsume is not nearby, or anywhere, he's gone, leaving just a bookmark.
Chapter 14 - Finale : Howl of us waving in the night sky
It has been nearly 3 month since the incident happened, Nitobe, Fuwazaka, and Niguchi driving into the train station, and Nitobe took the train back to the mountains where Gramps is, paying him a visit, and also checking the aftermath of the last chapter. Grampa said that according to the specialists, the 'signature' of Natsume can be faintly detected from the crash site, but nothing more, explaining that it was already a big risk to continuously used the ability to save the evil gang guys, straining his already damaged body, but when he uses his gift to save Nitobe during the last moment, he was *probably* erased from reality as the result and side effect, no longer exist in this world.
Jumping back to the gang, Nigochi accepts the fact that Nitobe loves Natsume and decided its time to move on, and the whole bookstore staff cheers him up.
Back to Gramps and Nitobe, Gramps starts talking about how miracle is both a blessing and a curse given Natsume's gift, and that it both gives hope and false hope on chances of him returning back to reality, while Nitobe has flash backs on what Natsume said to him before the crash. Then the two promptly went back to the house to get ready for the firework festival for the evening , and Natsume is standing behind them, watching with smile.
Natsume was not completely erased from reality, merely in Limbo, then starts explaining what was his last wish before the crash, which is "I wish Nitobe senpai will find the love of his live" (He doesn't know Nitobe loves him this whole time), explaining that with this, he'll not burden Nitobe with his gift and let him have a happy and normal life while he gets to watch over him before fading away from reality permanently. Nitobe on the other hand was regretting the fact he never get to tell Natsume he loves him, and may never be able to.
Just as Natsume closes his eyes and accepts this reality, the gift of wishes activated, 3 months has passed since that day.
Natsume got karate chopped by Nitobe for spacing out in the middle of the road before the festival, and was super confused as to why he was back in reality when Nitobe should be meeting the love of his life, and asked Nitobe who does he love, and he responded with "C'mon Natsume, don't make me say something as embarrassing like this. If it isn't you, when who else would it be?!".
Extra embarrassed and confused at the situation, Natsume meets Gramps, who was not influenced by his ability(What happened is the wish amended the reality, by allowing Nitobe to meet the love of his life, which is Natsume, the entire timeline of him not existing, was swapped to he being there this whole time, he saved himself basically by not knowing who Nitobe loves) and figured that something happened that brought him back to reality, and mentioned that they can talk about it after the festival. Nitobe got a bit jealous as he have no idea what the two was talking/whispering about.
When Gramps didn't pay attention to the two, Nitobe sneak in a kiss, and said that was his first kiss, even d'oh he knew that wasn't his first kiss with Natsume. The two laughed and walk towards the festival while fireworks going off.
A happy finale, the gift of wishes finally gives the two what they wished for this whole time.
