What a mentally unhealthy relationship, they should have decided on making it an open relationship: the closed relationship was clearly not sustainable. Any option other than keeping the closed relationship would have been better, since it's clearly a suboptimal situation for Marty, and he's only forcing himself to stay monogamous.
It's really too bad the serious topic of Paulie being sick had to share the same issue as some ridiculous stuff.
