As far as the comics go, I totally understand and believe that an artist has every right to design his/her patreon how they would like. Personally tho, I do feel like the artists that choose to lock away some of their art behind Patreon and -only- patreon, should expect their stuff to get leaked that much more, because you're essentially making your work THAT much more elusive and rare.

Something I feel some artists tend to forget is for those of us who choose to support patreons, some of us can't support -every- artist we would like to support, especially when you consider the more patreons just means a higher bill at the end of the month.

Personally speaking Ryan, I've wanted to sign up for your patreon for a while, but $10 a month is unfortunately a bit too pricey for me when I have to take into account the other patreons I'm currently supporting. My monthly patreon bill is currently around $40 a month, and even that is lower than it once was because of having to drop to make room for other fees like health insurance, car payments, food, etc.

For me personally, I've always felt like having a gumroad option for past rewards would seem like a smart choice to have for those that wish to support you, but unfortunately can't increase their total patreon bill for the month.

I totally get where you're coming from, wanting to give these comics as a little something 'special' to the folks that support your comic. But, and this is just something I've seen from other patreons. I've seen some artists who will keep their patreon art 'exclusive' for maybe a few months, at least until they have an art pack or the like finished. Then when its done, they upload it to a Gumroad for non-patreon supporters to also purchase as their way to help the artist. Meanwhile, patrons are getting the newer stuff early as kinda a 'timed exclusive' sorta thing. This way, those fans who would like to chip in to support but can't add the artist to a 'monthly' support bill, can chip in here and there where they can and when they can via Gumroad. Leaks will still happen because Internet, but this way, I feel like it would be a good compromise for Patreon supporters and other supporters, and money would come in either way.

But again, that's just my personal 2 cents on the whole patreon exclusive thing. Food for thought I guess. But at the end of the day, I'll still support the idea of an artist running their patreon the way they want to.
