I for one will remain on planet sanity. To respond to the original complaint, yes some folks do care. That said, you can't expect too much out of mods here partly due to the anon nature of things making ip banning the way to go to deal with troublemakers, and that is both ineffective and problematic (with minimal know how it's less of a hassle to bypass an ip ban than make new emails for an account only system). Also I hate to agree on any point with the guy but he is right in his implication that people come here more for anonymity, or some do at least, and a less moderated environment. Given the nature of this kind of board the mods do an okay job here really. Look to e621 or FA, sites with enforced user accounts for more moderated stuff. A chan board is just never (or at least very rarely) going to be as moderated as you like due to the nature of them. I usually just ignore the shit posts. Ain't worth the time. *hug*

I've seen a lot of artists quote each page as taking many tens of hours to complete, and that's just the layout/sketching/inking/colouring phase of producing a comic page, sans the time taken storywriting.
Lets guess on a fairly low number of hours to complete a page, say, 20 hours per page. That's $12 an hour, not exactly a super high wage for a skill that requires as much practice as being a good artist does. $242/page isn't particularly outrageous at all.

Also, I wish more artists would charge per page instead of per month/week/etc. It means that if the artist slows down posting, I don't pay for it, and it incentivizes producing content rather than running out this month's pay period.
