As someone who paid for hardblush and wetblush AND have subscribed to a lot of these patreons from time to time, I have to say I HATE PATREON and what it has done to these comics.

With those old subs I would get a lot of updates a month. Now I am lucky to see 1 a month. And the artists on patreon who ask for money per post, it is a joke. They post 3 shitty sketches and 1 real comic page a month to bank more money.

Seriously, I would legit pay 10 dollars per page if they were this polished and came out once a week. But no one does that when they can do 1/4th the work and still bank enough money so they can jack off all month while watching netflix on their own.

Powfooo's art really is very high-quality and I can see that these pages would take time. There really is an uncommon level of detail & effort put into the backgrounds, colors, lighting, textures, etc. Nothing is half-assed, like on these pages even the CLOUDS look good.

yes it's a long wait between pages, yes it takes an annoyingly long time to finish a comic. But once the comic is done, you can enjoy it forever. Of course we all wish the pages would come out faster. but I don't think that's possible unless he goes for a lower standard of quality, and personally I'd rather wait for quality work than rush it.

There isn't any shortage of other furry art for you to look at in the meantime

i'm not arguing that powfoo doesn't produce top quality stuff but if you look at his sketched work with basic shading and simple 2-3 colors the result is also very good.

this is why i love artists that release a full comic in 3 different stages: basic shading -> colored -> the quality that you can see here.

that way it's a win win situation for everyone as people can pick their poison and artist doesn't really have any extra work to do.

Honestly, I'm glad someone noticed the change.

In my opinion this is just the artist being super lazy. He/she is asking for the same price as the original comic and its a pure money grab rip off. Since the other comic which adopted the super chibi style art, failed epicly when that person tried to make porn from it and ended up becoming so cheesy people hated it!

I promise you that the lack of quality and detail is going to be applied to the sex scenes in this comic as well. Someone will complain about how terrible the penis/cock detail is and some random cunt in this thread is going to whine to a mod to delete their posts and get them banned for bringing it up.

Worst of all, if you compare the 2 images, all the artist did was fucking trace over their own art. And not to be so obvious about it, just changed the shirt type the blue cat is wearing. Wow...

That's just fucking lazy! If I could draw art, I would never trace my own art or be so lazy as to rehash the same scene again just for a cash money grab.

Are you blind? Its the same exact pose but missing some arms. Not to mention with some of the high details being removed, you could argue; which you are; that the angles are different but a real artist or people who judge art knows, that its basically a trace over.

Hell I wouldn't be shocked if the background was the same since the ship in the previous scene was in the way but the clouds remain the same. All he had to do was smug it a little more to make it seem like its a different cloud.

The point is... there is no excuse that you or the other person can make to convince me that this is not a trace. Though I am glad you admit the artist is that... lazy in his works because this just tells me that this is to be expected and over all proves my point that this artist is unoriginal and fake for quick cash grabs.

Not unmarketable, just hyper competitive. There are a lot of artists with jobs... but there are just too many artists. That has nothing to do with capitalism, that is just supply and demand in general.

The idea of paying an artist does not bother me at all. It is the fact that we used to get far more updates, of the same quality, until Patreon.

I have said time and again, I was one of those who paid for hard AND wet blush. I have paid many commissions. I also do pay for some Patreon work, even now.

I would gladly pay $10 or even $20 a month for this comic... if it updated every week. But something about Patreon made a lot of the artists lazy. I wouldn't even say greedy, because Powfoo's Patreon is not expensive at all. I just wish I could give them more money to update quicker...

It's got nothing to do with piracy. Back in the day there were only a handful of people actually selling commissions and comics had to be published in magazines. The money was concentrated on a few decent authors because there was some sort of a bar for entry, and the amateurs couldn't get in on the game. ("decent" being relative - early furry was pretty terrible)

Then everybody started to sell digital commissions, and the price of even amateur works slowly crept from $5 a doodle to $50 because everybody was suddenly "Omg I deserve to get paid at least $20 an hour because I'm a professhunal artist!".

Okay, so far so good, because the customers started dissapearing just as fast, driven away by the insane prices and flaky egos of artists, some of whom were ouright scammers. People didn't waste their money on the amateurs, and bought the good stuff instead, which then turned up pirated and the spice kept flowing.

But then came Patreon and everybody started demanding an entry fee, begging a dime here and another there, and people found they were paying a lot of money to a bunch of online panhandlers for very little in return. The classic penny wise pound foolish situation. The proper artist started losing income because people didn't have anything left over to spend on them, and only the biggest status symbol popufurs could turn commissions for profit - everybody else buggered off, and the good stuff stopped coming.

So it's now a divided market: at one end you have a horde of amateur beggars sucking the life out of furry, and at the other end you got generic YHCs sold for thousands of dollars to people who buy it for the bragging rights. There's no middle ground anymore.

Fact of the matter is, that if you can't draw efficiently enough to make $50 worth your time, you're not good enough. It's insane to pay hundreds of dollars for simple wank rags or character pinups. That's why the furry art market is all about whining and begging, "support me! support me!".

But powfooo also has two people. Comic artists that do full color usually produce 1 page a week (though usually mid tier shading/details).
Powfooo has pow and chinpo and they produce like 2 pages a month. Twice the amount of working hands but still half as slow.

The fact that people are calling this lazy is actually quite disgusting to me. Take into consideration that these artist found a technique to help produce art faster. Styles change and people are always adapting their art. Im quite glad that the styles have change, it's not good to keep stagnant and comfortable. You do not improve that way. I do wish that the pages would release faster, but as an artist, I understand that comics are fucking hard and they take a really long time. These pages are by no means lazy and other artist would KILL to have their comics look half as good as these on a constant basis. Art is hard, please dont complain and just be happy its being released.

You are correct. I can't. I can, however, model, UV, and texture a character, or make a whole virtual environment in a shorter amount of time.

There are people I work with that could produce a page of this quality in about a day (8-10 hours). Though I do agree it is rare. Concept art positions are literally the hardest, most competitive in the art/entertainment industry.

The main difference is that I am fairly sure Powfoo spends maybe ~20 hours, each, a month on this work. It is really hard for me to believe it takes them longer. If it does, they really need to improve their pipeline/learn some new tools.

It isn't their main job. It might be possible to be, if they would charge per page, and put out quality quicker. However, they don't want to. I am fairly sure they are VERY happy with the amount of money they are getting for the small amount of work being put in.

Damn right I don't like femboy comics but that doesn't mean I can't make fun of a terrible artist that milks his fan base for money that he didn't earned.

There was no reason at all to focus an entire comic at the work place again. It could had started showing the kid visit the bull at his office, but no... we had to show the same... fucking scene at the same fucking place with the same fucking characters. There was no reason to show any of the back ground characters from the first comic giving the same attention to the kid as they had no back ground story. A good artist would had used different characters but this is not the case. On top of that, not only is the clothing similar and the positions slightly changed but they so happened all... be right there at the same time to give the same response too?

The only thing that was a new... was the obisan restaurant owner who..., since everything else was rehashed in this comic, was most likely a scrapped character from the pile of the first comic because the artist in question wanted all the focus to be on the kid to appeal the targeted audience.

Here... in this comic now that the base has established, after feedback from the fan base was acquired, the artist couldn't think of an original new plot so it went back to the same environment gave a few new personality traits to the bull and the lion to make it look fresh in progression when in reality its not, and basically copied the same basic sex scenario with only the bull molesting him. However... since the comic is not over and due to the "piggish" trait the author gave the bull, most likely in the next few pages he's either going to fuck the kid in front of his co-workers or allow the co-workers to cum on his face similar to a bukakke.

Powfooo clearly no longer enjoys drawing furry porn anymore, if he ever even really did in the first place. I mean cross busted came out in 2015, so in the last 4 years he's put out 2 and a quarter comics, each of which has shown a decline in the quality and care compared to his previous works. I used to subscribe to his patreon years ago and remember him running a poll years ago starting he wanted to do clean work and asked who would stick around if he switched to majority clean work. He never started what the results were, but the fact that he is still doing porn, albeit slower and at a lesser quality, tells me he knew which way his bread was buttered. I dropped his patreon shortly after due to the finding updates and drop in quality. It seems many others have as well over the years and I wouldn't be surprised if we never saw Powfooo again after this comic.

Before Patreon, I used to pay for a lot of different sites. Now I pay for a few different Patreons. I used to spend less money, and get around 5 times the content I do now. I used to sub to more Patreons, but so many of them ended up like this one. Either too few updates and still have a monthly fee, or a free per item, and tons of items are released to make money, even though only 1 a month is actually of any quality.

It is the same thing with Porn. You could pay for a megasite like Brazzers, and get a shit ton of content for 10 bucks a month. Or pay some random pornstar like 30 bucks a month for their private site that gets like 2 shitty updates a month...

I honestly think it has to do with self motivation. Most people can't handle being in business for themselves, just like most people can't handle school unless a teacher/professor is literally there everyday telling them X thing is due tomorrow, or they fail.

I am not faulting anyone here. It is human nature. But, it all comes down to, Patreon was the reason all of this started going down hill for Furry porn.

I'm not into the new pages or this chapter either and I fricking love femboys.
Everything is just so fricking DARK to look at like... too much shading and darkness, you can barely see anyone who's not Mio. Even the "hot bull ass" is barely visible. I can't believe how much bitching and moaning is on this thread. This is some of the highest quality furry porn I have seen, the coloring is drop dead gorgeous and so smooth.

Yes, the writing is typical anime-tropes and the humor is can be kind of cringey/typical. There isn't much emotion other then the two teasing each other and almost brutalized sex. But I guess that's really only it's weakpoint.

After reading this and Arcana Tales I'm noticing a pattern in these comics. The protagonist who appeared to be at least a teenager, somewhat capable and even skilled in the case of AT, always returns to the sequel transformed into a barely coherent, borderline mentally handicapped owo monster toddler. I supported both of them on Patreon for a long time. Then when they got so slow I discontinued it.

Yeah this ending is pretty fucked up. It is fine if he still wants to be a crossdresser. But the whole moral of the story was for MC to do things for himself not for anyone else. A good ending would have been for MC to go to college for himself, drop all contact with his shit mother and come back to the docks and be with bull/father figure after graduating. That way MC made the choices himself to gain an education and be with someone he loves. Instead, Powfooo says fuck that. MC stays on the dock because bull suggests it and throws away all development. Maybe I'm reading into their relationship, but I'm guessing Hudson sees in Mio that he wants to live a modest life. He's helping Mio learn to make decisions for himself by proving to him that his reservations about going to college were worth exploring. I think Hudson recognized that Mio was making the decision to go to school based on his desire to please others, rather than his own needs. If Hudson hadn't intervened and made this decision for Mio, then Mio would have stayed the course, gone to college and possibly wasted his youth pursuing something that wouldn't ultimately bring him happiness. I'd like to think Hudson is only controlling Mio the way that he is because he knows him better than Mio's mother, who otherwise would be controlling him to meet her own selfish ends, and that Hudson's ultimate goal is to enable Mio to make decisions for himself. If what I'm saying is right, (and I think Hudson's internal dialogue about this seems to align with what I'm saying), then this is actually a very happy ending for this installment. Mio is on course to explore what he wants out of life before relegating himself to a commitment that may only waste his time. Hudson said "Take some time with me to figure out what you really want".
