Well setting aside the cultural differences, Maririn being Japanese and the age of Consent in Japan is 13. She probably couldn't post this on FA or any US based sites outside of places like InkBunny because of the implied ages of the characters. I mean she's probably skirting Patreons age restrictions as it is for this one.

Also, as far as updates are concerned here's one thing you all need to keep in mind. Maririn is in reality a middle aged house wife with two kids and a husband who probably don't know she does this. Be thankful that we get ANY updates or even art for that matter. I'm pretty sure Tyson being the more "emotional" one in the relationship, with Tobias being more reserved is to play into how they raise and adapt to Elias in a future chapter. And given how artwork showing how, as they get older, their relationship as fathers and son changes to a sexual nature, I wouldn't be surprised if Tobias' emotional side gets explored in another way.

Okay I'm sure this makes me a hypocrite and it kind of confuses me but here's my stance. I want to point out that Maririn is not the original writer since she basically bringing the story to life through her comics. Just like she did with her past project Brothers in Arms 1 and 2. However I'm not trying to defend her because even I don't know for sure if she's planning on going for the obvious route on her own or is it the writers choice. I remember reading the writer story for BIA 2 that their was suppose to be a fart scene at the end, but Maririn change it to a tail slap instead because of the criticism. What I'm trying to say is, maririn comics USUALLY are described as facts of life or real life moments (or the closest as possible), and yes, it's not the cup of tea of everyone (for me at least is a pain in the ass 80% of the time, that's why I get so bored with sitcoms like friends or so), but there are cases which are a great reading for this world full of inflations and size/age differences.

For me, maririn is a great writer and her stories are involving and catch you up to the deepest. FOR ME, that does not mean I'm telling you to like this the same I do. My faves from her are this one and brothers in arms. You can try to see it this way or just looking for another maririn work to check if it's of your like. That's life man

There's a distinct difference between Maririn and most fujoshi, though; by and large fujoshi only care about BL/yaoi as opposed to bara, stuff with generic androgynous anime bishounen with basically the same lanky body types. Maririn's characters are far more muscular and masculine, so it has more appeal with actual gay men. That's not to say that femboys aren't popular among gay dudes, but there's a distinct difference between a feminine guy and the average character you see in BL comics
