Nobody asked him to take them anywhere for free? They said they had another destination, which he would have known when picking them up that it changed mid-ride. A halfway reasonable driver would have confirmed that it wasn't where they wanted to be and had them input the other destinations properly.

You are right that the app could have just continued charging them the more he drove them around. There was no reason for him to kick them out.

Uber is not a taxi! When you request one and set the destination you agree that it is where you want to go! It is the drivers responsibility to get you their safely but it is yours, not the drivers responsibility to make sure you give them the proper address! The driver was simply following protocol. If you send yourself to the wrong place you simply request another Uber and make sure the address is correct this time.

Uber isn't a taxi? Let's see... schedule to get a ride from a specific destination to another destination, paying a base fare plus mileage and wait time? Sounds an awful lot like a taxi to me.

Of course, Uber/Lyft aren't actual taxi services, and the dog had every right to refuse to give them another ride. But threatening them because of a misunderstanding? That's ridiculous no matter how far you have to reach to justify him kicking them out. He would have known what the original destination was when he picked them up since it was changed mid-ride. An intelligent person's reaction in that situation isn't "OMG these guys are gonna kidnap and rape me I better kick them out NOW with added threats just in case." It would probably be more along the lines of "Shit, they must have put the address in wrong. I might offer to drive them to another address, unless I have somewhere I ABSOLUTELY have to be RIGHT NOW at 2 in the morning, in which case I can explain that and ask they call another ride."

Can they just call an extra ride? Absolutely. Does it make sense to? Sure, given the context of the scene. Does the scene taken as a whole make sense? Not a whole lot, no.

No, Uber is not a taxi you dumbass and it is a ride sharing company that do not owe you shit other than dropping your ass off where YOU told the company via the app YOU wanted to go! These rides are not metered like a taxi is and the driver is ONLY paid though what is the GPS in the app says! No one owes you shit you entitled little brat and no driver nor Uber or Lyft is going to care if it is 3am and you have to work the next day or whatever your little problem might be! When you use the app, pay for a ride and climb in that car you agreed that you told the driver the CORRECT ADDRESS! That is NOT the drivers issue when they drop you off in a safe well lit area that you asked to be sent via the app!

If you want to drive endlessly without having to worry about such technology and simply tell the driver to go to another address that is a taxi! They do not work the same way you idiot! A taxi is metered by the driven mile that can easily be updated or in this cases just continued by the driver while Uber is GPS based and is linked to a central computer!

You are in for a very hard awakening kiddo!

One of the benefits (and curses) of image boards is you can make these anonymous "fire and forget" comments, so you can get involved in something that interests you without being somehow tied to it socially. When I commented about the 'owo' I absolutely acknowledged that it could very likely get jumped on by someone/people for any reason at all, but the commenting structure meant I could just put it out there and then come back whenever I next felt able to.

Granted, I hoped somewhat that some actual humanity might potentially come from it and sure enough there was a bit xD Though I have to say even though I expected it I was sort of amusedly surprised by the tenuously (if at all) provoked vitriol of the first response, it's almost like waiting for toast to pop up xD It's sort of interesting to think about the things that have (or haven't) gone into such a large swath of people's lives in society that ends them up talking shit to suppress small indications of constructive human expression on the internet.

It would be nice if we could change how people interacted with one another in these environments but I'm pretty sure the problem stretches to wider society really (the popularity, attitude and motivations (or lack thereof) of the alt right is a good example).
We get a little bit of the edge off (probably quite a lot actually) by being furries or at least being interested in them, but I think between the stereotypical shitpost-friendly format of image boards, the fact that this board is largely used to pirate paywall content and so will of course attract people who don't think far past mindless entitlement for free shit, and the fact that the image board is literally aesthetically themed around the German Nazis, it would take *quite a lot* to ease down the way people interact.

I'm wary that potentially the mods won't be happy with me talking so much about something that isn't directly related to the thread topic, though I feel that some meta discussion isn't hugely inappropriate, as long as it doesn't take up everything that's ever talked about in the thread. I'm not going to be fervently replying to anyone that expresses some unreasonable sentiment, this is just kind of a casual exploration for me as I haven't really gotten involved in communities with any significant capacity for vitriol since I was in school (my motivation for starting being the paywall content) :P Not that it should need to be said but I am actually here to follow the comic and so my comments aren't all going to be off topic.

Cliche I know, but with Jesus there is this whole symbolism of Lion of Judah and Lamb of God. Book of Revelation makes a big deal out of the fact that the messiah was expected, and supposed to be, a warrior king like David but instead Jesus redeemed the sins as a sacrificial lamb.

I think that in a furry world with presumably history of predation, a religion that uses a predator taking the docile aspect of a prey as a major theme, would be a strong unifying force. Even more so if we added details like Mary, mother of Jesus being a sheep.

Same, it's especially funny to be me because that was basically me while I was on keto. Very successfully if I may add, I lost 70 pounds in 6 months. I used to weigh about 270 pounds.
