I think the main issue is that Milo simply looks older, less smooth and coherent. For whatever reason Toki changed the style he drew Milo and Tracey in, about 70% into the first comic.
If I had to make a guess, it would be literally for that reason. I remember some people giving him shit for the characters looking "too young" and implying he purposefully made them look "underage", because of some joke dialogue on one of the first few pages of the 1st part, where Milo says something about how he started going to the gym to stop looking like a kid.
Personally, after that abrupt change in the first comic which made the two room mates seem quite a bit older from page to page and mid-scene, I hoped it was just artist fatigue and him not constantly checking back to the start to keep the designs consistent. Happens all the time to people who work on one series for too long. Once this 2nd chapter rolled along, it sadly seems the change is here to say and was intended.
