Here's a question I ask about stories like these.

If you want to make a romance story, why add the melodrama? Why add stakes surrounding the relationship? Why make so much contrivance when everything could have worked if the two had just met first instead of wasting time with the other randos who we won't see or care about in the 20 pages?

All those "super unique and original" characters in the beginning were likely patreon backers. I guess Patto has a backing reward where people can have their cringe characters forced into a comic. There's nothing really to talk about because the characters have no depth. They just exist right now. There's no plotline. There's no worthwhile or questionable character interactions to judge. And we still don't get why this is alpha is so interested in being all buddy-buddy with this protagonist, to whom we know nothing about.

See, that's the main issue with werewolves. People find them incredibly hot, but majority of the time if a werewolf is involved in the plot, they unwilling give an innocent person an STD. Yes I can understand if someone chooses to be a werewolf, that's fine. But making someone into one on purpose, and the victim can't even protect themselves since they had no idea the perpetrator was a lycanthropy and infected them is fucked up.

I don't get it. I'm all for a SFW, story-based comic, but..why suddenly make the switch after starting with shallow smut as a base? It's such a jarring change that leaves nearly everyone unsatisfied. The SFW people aren't gonna want to a read a comic that was so smutty for the first issue, and the people looking for a wank are gonna be let down by the sudden blue-balling.

IMO? If this is what they wanted to do all along, they really should have just rebooted the comic and gone for a fresh start.

There will always be a tiny minority of people who don't like the story Direction, but it'd always be way easier just to shift directions in the middle of the comic and try to figure out the comics identity, then it will ever be to reboot. A total reboot will just confuse the fan base and piss off the larger majority of people who actually enjoy this comic! For proof just look at all the comics on this site alone that rebooted or just fucking stopped cuz of 1 guy saying it not their favorite!

I enjoy werewolves, and I love these guys designs that they all look different, and the X-Men aspect is a good storyline to parallel from, but on a constructive note, you just introduced like 20 new characters in the past 20 pages. Maybe you should give us time to adjust and get to know some of these characters before you throw more characters out us please?

but if they wait till around the middle and shift the tone and setting it's gonna still be just as confusing.this is why you have to plan things out before showing us.you'll just divide the audience if you don't show a clear direction for your story.do you want it to be story focused? do you want it to be smut? do you want it checkered with both aspects But be primarily story driven? you have to have this all thought out beforehand or you'll just confuse everyone.

From what I know, there is gonna be smutty stuff in the printed version. But not having them now makes things...odd.
Why are some guys wearing pants when they're all Ken Doll'd anyway? Why does the female wolf have tits if this is meant to be SFW (or PG-13 in Patto's words)? And on that note: the story would be a confusing mess without reading the first issue.

This is why you don't see series of movies or shows change ratings in between films. It defeats the purpose of watching a PG-13 movie if you have to wade through the rated R prequel to understand the plot. That, and you blueball all of the original fans.

Knowing Patto it's even wierd to think they would stop porn because of the story. No. In fact, they even said on their Twitter replies on a recent post that human x werewolf sex might be coming in this comic. I do like this comic, but for me the pacing of this comic is just incredibly slow. It is more than 3.5 years old and the story has just about passed the prologue.

By 2030, this comic might not even be half way done. That is the only part that annoy me. I want to see the story to the conclusion, but I think me (30) or the artist will die of old age before that happens.
