The soldier with the + shaped scar at the end is the same guy in the tavern at the start. The other soldier explained at the end that there was a failed war bioweapon bacteria that caused people to essentially fuck nonstop, and "some bastard" stole the bacteria and was luring poor people, spiking their wine with that bacteria, watching them fuck and then throwing them on the street. The comic ends with that same "bastard" offering the same soldier some of that spiked wine.
So, its actually much worse than that, the panther is shown at the end rotting on the streets
