There is clear improvement in the art and the previous ones were kinky and weird enough to be entertaining. If you don't like it either shut up or do constructive criticism.

Jesus Christ. It’s like a Australian guy who was oxygen-deprived at birth made a furry comic. These characters look straight up mutated loool.

I also like the “I previously had a divorce” trope, totally original. I really wish more comics would use such an unexpected background for a character.

Agreed. I like the over exaggerated expressions, it conveys the emotion in a more surreal way that I think adds to the story, which is already peaked my interest. Please do more.

Also, all you haters love to rag on visual quality, but would slob the knob of someone like One, even though his own drawing is awful, but the story is so well written that someone else decided to draw One Punch Man for him. Brokowski at least understands the basics of perspective, color, and damn good grasp at anatomy, from what I can tell.

Bro, I'm happy you didn't stop after you pulled the plug on the Navy story, and I hope you continue making these awesome and underappreciated comics. You do you, man.

Not exactly Tolkien levels of worldbuilding and storytelling. Kinda the opposite; it's like those old pornos about sailors getting together because of living together in close quarters for so long, except those aren't painful to look at.

Brokowski does have a really solid grasp on coloring, though.

I would think that he would be thrilled that his work caused such an uproar that he felt he needed to cancel previous comics. It’s art, so it is supposed to make a statement and cause a reaction. The fact that his work was so severely criticized, leads me to believe that his art is essential. Because it caused us to think about our own actions and criticism towards these artists. I personally love the new direction of storytelling and look forward to more from this artist.

At this point this comic clearly uses many common tropes to a point where it feels almost predictable.

However, this is actually a good thing if done right.

There is nothing wrong with tropes if they are used to create expectations for the reader which contradict what the story will evolve into.

The lack of sex appeal in this comic's art style channels the attention to the actual message and story behind it.

There's great potential to stand out here storywise as it already stands out in one aspect yet seems very shallow and generic with it's plot in the beginning.

If this comic's story evolves from generic into the unexpected it's effect will be greatly exaggerated by contradicting everybody's expectations.

The best way to make a powerful story is to have the reader not to expect that one thing which makes it stand out.

However the story should have a small twist to catch the readers' attention before having a completely unexpected climax which spins
The entire plot around.

My personal opinion is that the climax shouldn't be the ending, I think that the climax should be used as a tool to lead the story towards something short that will efficiently deliver the desired messages and thoughts to the reader before coming to an end.

This is just my opinion but I strongly advise you to consider the somewhat negative reception as a misjudgements that carries great potential.

Honestly, from this point on this comic could either become lazy and generic or a powerful story which stands out.

Also, the last thing people expect from this comic is to be sexy so that's another oppoturnity to make an impact.

Don't give the audience what they want, give them what you can.

Fact is, people will read this comic no matter what at this point because they don't have to really invest into it.

I don't think you, as a tvtropes reader, has much backing to be talking like an English professor about a story for which you have exactly six pages for. You're just being really prescriptive about what constitutes a "powerful story" and good storytelling in general. Fair enough, we all read comics for different reason and we all have our personal preferences and standards.

To me it seems that this comic is clearly story-driven and not trying to be just some generic fap material, which it can of course be simultaneously if that's how the reader sees it.

I'm writing here anonymously, everything I say shouldn't affect our lives in any way so I don't see any reason for the hatefulness.

I don't care if my writing seems arrogant, posh or manipulative and you shouldn't either, the only thing that matters is the contents and nothing else.

I hope that this picture is more fitting for the vibes that my message emits though it doesn't change anything about what I have just written nevertheless.

So, i've never seen this particular artist before... but...

His style is interesting - its reminds me of the better indie comics from the 90s and as someone else notes, his colouring work is exceptional. I have to point out, take a look at the original Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles... which became something of a success (a couple of movies, TV series... more comics than you can image) and the original series artwork was objectively.. well.. terrible. Heck, even the story wasn't great.

What we have here is already far, far better. In six pages, we have five consistent characters, a fair bit of establishment of personality (if not character development) and what might turn out to be a very interesting little twist.

It has sexually explicit scenes but they're not long drawn out porn sessions - they fit into the story.

Yeah, it's not deep - but it's only six pages.

Give the artist a chance... personally, I'd like to see where this goes.

I agree, the colours are straight up good and I like the paneling alot. The art is still ugly but that's just his style. The poses are well defined and any background props that are important (ie the construction vehicle tires) are drawn with detail. He conveys a bunch of expressions in a dynamic and interesting way that a more polished, refined style (ie nullghost) isnt as capable of doing. It's kinda like pausing on a smearframe of a well animated show for every panel, or looking at a cartoon from the 90's, yeah.

The dude posted the comic here himself, knowing full well what this site in general thinks of his work (coloring: fantastic; everything else: dog vomit). He's either a glutton for punishment or he doesn't care half as much as anyone thinks he does.

I find that even if the line art isnt incredible, the actual important part of the comic (the story) is very interesting. I'm always drawn into this dynamic of a dom dude who fucks a subby dude but wants to maintain his straight image.

Its like Passing Love where that bear dude fucks the dog guy but he always kicks him out afterwards cause his straight friends are coming over.

It becomes less about the poon and more about the relationship between the two and trying to figure out what's really going on. That's where the interest comes in for me. And so far this is good. Could use more polish on the faces though lol.

Everyone on these boards are back seat artists who talk a big game but never walk the walk themselves-- or just pulverize newborn artists with criticism 'til they're black and blue emotionally. Then have the gull to complain about artists giving up when just a moment ago were ramming a poison pill down an artist's throat. How is that ever going to inspire let alone help anybody? You can't expect a 3rd grade basketballer to dunk on an NBA level right out of the gate. Please, calm down. If you want better art, facilitate that with helpful comments instead of debilitation.

This art gets the job done and the colors work and aren't jarring and even have color consistency when switching to under night time. Y'all need to remember that everyone big and small starts somewhere, and even the best of the best always have room to improve. I'm thankful this artist is sharing with us his imagination and story FOR FREE!
Improvement is a marathon and comes from a long series of learning from mistake after mistake after mistake. If you beat them all along the way with unjust criticism you will completely hinder improvement and strangle an artist of their much needed fuel to keep going on that long journey. Have your fun with scorching rebukes but don't trick yourself into thinking you're doing the world or any artist any favors with your back seat critique.

U18chan is a chan site. These are not where you go for good well thouht out feedback. Thats what FA is for. When people have anonymous means of communication, they are going to say how they really feel without sugar coating anything, and will even say things harsher for the sake of humor and venting out their negative emotions. Alot of the super harsh criticism is also stuff they dont necessarily mean either.

Chan sites are one of the last places in the world where someone without close friends can gripe and trashtalk without having to worry about being becoming the center of the next viral shame campaign. Their popularity stems from being able to speak without censoring yourself. Its cathartic, and I doubt anyone is going to want to give it up anytime soon.

While I agree that I don't want brokowski getting turned off from finishing another comic, he and every other artist out there should learn that Chan sites are no place to go if you want your feelings to be spared. Everyone here is a comedic vulture. Eager to make a joke at the expense of the artist. Look for feedback on your FA. Not here. It will save you hearing people talk shit they didnt think too hard about or mean.
