I genuinely and generally refrain from critiquing art, or any kind of work someone creates, and Fuze's artwork is by no means the worst I've seen, but I can't think of a single creator of anything who hasn't at least improved a little after years of practice. Every face and body is still exactly the same, anatomy and angles are still wonky, expressions are stilted and unnatural...

He still draws better than I ever could, it's just very...odd.

In the 5 years I've been aware of him, Fuze has never really made any effort to improve his art or expand on his skill set. He's drawn the same bodies with the same faces and same expressions with no hint of even wanting to get better. He's not bad, but it's definitely strange seeing someone go for so long without any change whatsoever.

It's actually really simple.

They're satisfied with their level of skill and have gathered enough of a fan following that they don't need to improve, because their stuff is loved regardless of quality.

More to the point, it's a matter of context over content. How many comics have you seen that are popular despite not being very well drawn? Or how many porn pictures? More often than not, it's the context of the piece that matters, not the quality of the art. I know from personal experience that if I see some porn that hits all the right buttons or portrays some really hot idea, I'll fap to it regardless of whether it's well drawn, or not.

I know of at least one artist, won't say their name, but it's neither Aaron, nor Cyberklaw, that is uh... a little bit on the godawful side when it comes to anatomy and art quality in general, but the porn pieces they draw feature really hot ideas, and thus get a lot of praise.

So if you draw a lot of comics, or a lot of other art that depict hot or interesting ideas, you're gathering your fanbase more through frequency of posting and the subject matter, art comes second. At that point, it is entirely up to the artist whether they wish to improve their art, or are satisfied with what they're capable of and don't feel the need to improve because they already have a shit ton of fans.

Also some artist progress slower then their output rate but are progressing so it may not look like progress when you look at their last 100 images or so but look at images far enough apart and you can see a difference. Honestly fuze hasn't improved much even when you do that but oddly his anatomy has improved slightly since 2015

Sorry to disappoint, but no.

The artist in question stopped drawing (or at least posting) a few years ago. They're not an example of an artist not improving, they're an example of people willing to ignore quality of the art style because the subject portrayed is very appealing.

You can also see it with any people that draw really outlandish fetishes. People won't mind if it's badly drawn as long as it's a fetish their fans love that nobody else draws.

Standards also differ if the artist purely has it as a hobby, or if they are asking for donations/ko-fi/patreon. So far fuze to my knowledge isnt asking for donations, but if he ever chooses to he should seriously consider formal art classes.

BTW your comment is right as The Wotch, which portrays transformation fetishes, had some horrendous art, yet still happily (and successfully) collected online donations. People who attack low effort comics like The Wotch are not jealous; they rightfully hold the idea in contempt.

No, even as a world building concept, this idea lacks critical thought. A civilization built by anthropomorphic animals would have technology and culture to accommodate their needs. Lopping off body parts and replacing them with prosthetics is a drastic solution to some minor clothing problems.

Characters with horns and antlers could easily wear shirts with buttons or zippers. And athletes could have specially designed helmets or some other kind of safety padding to cover their horns. In the case of deer, their antlers naturally fall off and grow back, so they could just trim them short if they want to play sports.

Yeah... the mistake here is that we know everyone else is into dudes, so the shame/embarrassment of hiding homosexual behavior doesn't have the same weight

Surround Ty and Joe with frat boys who may "play gay" but very much have girlfriends, and it carries more weight. If he set this a decade or more ago and had blatant homophobia (several places still have that today, and I'm not even talking about Muslim/Arab countries which have tons of homosexual behavior despite officially being anti gay), it would have MORE weight.

Wigs are a prosthetic or an enhancement I don't think they can be compared, however I agree its more like getting cut, and both are retarded due very similar reasons except one is bad world building and the other is genuine amputation on babies that can't even comprehend even the most basic concepts.

There's some light teasing among the guys, but I'd rather see buildup where other characters (who we know aren't gay or would never consider being open about it, not like these guys) show their attitudes. Maybe some are religious nuts, and maybe some aren't as religious but still see it as inferior, disgusting, wimpy, etc, and maybe some have Hispanic machismo...

To be fair this is 2020, not 1990, not 2000, not even 2010. Attitudes have changed even in rural areas.

An example is seen in Blue is the Warmest Colour by Julie Maroh, and the film adaptation by Abdellatif Kechiche. The comic's initial flashbacks are set in the 1990s, when Beatrice openly denounces Clementine for being at a lesbian bar, calling her immoral and sick. But the movie's plot moved up to the 2010s, and Beatrice instead claims she has no problems with homosexuality but falsely accuses Adele (the movie's version of Clem) of hitting on her. This shows how much things have changed.
