So, either the bow was sabotaged by the instructor, or one of the perspective recruits (assuming from the lack of caring). Either A: Cobb is so strong that he should be let in on that fact alone, or B: he should be outfitted with another weapon and prove his merit.

However, I am compelled to point out that the captain DID tell Ark that "he gave him the same bow as the others, and made sure every bow was in good condition before this test" (look at that, I didn't even have to paraphrase; those were his exact words LOL). If this statement was true, there could only be one of two outcomes;

Either A: ALL the bows would have broken (because they were supposedly ''all in the same condition'');

Or B: He's lying (observe the slightly panicked look with stuttering), and he knows one wasn't in fit condition.

--I guess there COULD be a;
C: One of the other recruits sabotaged the bow. And, AND, the captain didn't seem very concerned (or surprised) at all that one bow broke that should have been in the 'same condition' as the others (because he inspected all of them, savvy?). Not to mention the hurried dismissal (the gods' will my furry butt).

Maybe D: He IS actually telling the truth, and knows of foul play by another party (and approves).

Or E: I am just a suspicious person. There is no foul play, things just happened.

Well. It's can't help. Their are an almighty CITIZEN. Even the prince know about what their do, he can't do much something about it. Or he may cause conflict between citizen and royalty.

But really. Ark can't help much here. It's true that he's the prince. But it's also true that Cobb is only a brown dog in a blue wolf warrior tribe. An outsider who somehow become the prince fev. Jelly -> hate -> racism. The more Ark try to protect Cobb, the more worse situation for Cobb. The only way out of this is that Cobb must prove himself that he's worth to be Ark's partner.

Cobb just proved that he's more talented than ALL of them. DO these people live in another universe? They saw the bow break. If their bows broke, they'd expect the same treatment. Seriously, the problem should be that he's better than you, not that the competition was made fair by Ark's intervention.

The other comic with these wolves (S&F) shows them when they're 15 and they like got the bodytype of a powerlifter, they train since they are pups.

By deductive reasoning...the "bad" thing can be surmised by just looking at the teaser page. Cobb looks defeated. And we just learned that he actuallly made friends with Ark's tribe in this prequel. We know Ark is very aware of his tribe treating Cobb like an outcast. In the first part Cobb said himself that the tribe would never accept him as Ark's mate. Now that he's the alpha, Ark has the power to protect Cobb.

At the time I'm writing this, Both, my boyfriend and I, are recovering from covid, so I'm really sorry if i start slow this month and make you wait for the new pages of the comic for a little longer. I'm still working as much as i can as soon as i have time. Thanks to all of you for all the support and love you gave me this last year and continue to do so this one too. The last three months of 2021 were really difficult to me financially, making me take commission, after commission, after commission with barely any rest, which mean I got full of work and have little time to work on stuff for the patreon. Yeah if I was Cobb I'd kinda be telling him to take everything back, cause (why the fuck am I analyzing furry comic stories) the way that whole proposal stuff sounded, he never once indicated he wanted to be with Cobb till like...that last second so everyone else probably assumed he'd choose some random girl, unless one was already assumed to be the one he'd specifically choose, either way he kinda made a mess of things kinda springing this on literally everyone without any notice to any parties involved at all. From what i got from the Prequel comic on the top of my head it seems to at least give some kind of clairvoyance and is at least useful enough that Ark was basically used to hunt down intruders/poachers even as a child and considered extremely dangerous important to assassinate to those intruders.

Personally my theory is supernatural perception and Leyline manipulation, seems like it would be perfect for a king (Lord of Dawn). I also think it being the same power the Emperor of Megalos from Sword and Fang (Same setting but far future) has is also fully possible considering the Gold and Sun motif (and his citizens often having gold tattoos near or around their eyes) of the empire and similarly vague powers and that magic doesn't seem to do race discrimination and seems to ignore genetics.
