The extended bus trip (was there even a bus trip before?) is kinda cool, even if it's really dumb.

But why is this drawn so damn poorly compared to the unfinished original comic? And why the hell did Olli lose his abrasive personality? That was some funny shit!

Yeah, the old one was kinda blatantly Hardblush-y (though I'm not sure why that would make it soulless), but at least the characters didn't consist of harshly angled linework that's weighted all sloppily like it's Ed, Edd 'n Eddy.

Tbh, on second thought this isn't completely new. I've noticed a regression in the complexity of Lost-Paw's general artwork too. Like over the last 2-3 years, going off of what little there's actually been. I know he's having / been having health issues, so perhaps that's why. Could just be an artistic choice too.

I'm okay with this style if it speeds up progression so this comic won't get dropped this time around, but I still think it's not much of a looker now. Unique =/= better, necessarily.
And I miss angry goatboi, which hasn't got anything to do with the art. The fainting trait was a nice touch though.

I get that you have chip on your shoulder about HB but that does not mean the art-style is bad or change the fact that lost paw has regressed

The style is slick as fuck. Even if it's not your thing, I really like it. Also, to the one who complained the horse has a human/horse hybrid dick... where's it written you can't draw dicks however you like? As long as they're hot, what difference does it make? I could see if it switched back and forth like the artist couldn't decide or keep track of which, but it really seems like you're splitting hairs here.

The sharper angles and exaggerated expressions are a drastic improvement over the first incarnation, which was just some generic anime-looking Hardblush-knockoff shit.

Still not a fan of Clover's design, but that's just my personal opinion on femboys in general. Doesn't help that "Clover" is typically used as a female name.

Again, just me, and I love Olli and France's dynamic. They wouldn't work as well without Clover as a foil to them, so he's definitely tolerable.

By the way, I just remembered that I've never actually seen Hardblush artists use anatomical features like Olli's caprine-ish mouth (diamond shaped, curved buckteeth).

They'll do it for common species like canines, sometimes, and perhaps Clover would also keep his equine facial structure (though probably dialed back a bit), but Olli would definitely just be some ambigious human-looking thing with horns and long ears.

Luckily that all seems to have survived the transition pretty well.

outside of one page which can be explained no it doesn't would you like to know the difference. between each hair flip in the original time had passed ie sleeping its on one side. exiting school its on a diffrent side arriving at waterworld flipped agian. each flip
time has passed and as a person with long hair I play with my hair and pull it different ways through out the day. the one time were it flips in the same page is when Mr goat crawls out from under the stall and that can be easily explain as he adjusted it between panel since in the stand up panel its drawn as him collecting himself, he is not speaking and we have no idea how long he took between standing up and yelling at the other two.
In the remake the hair is flipping mid conversation. the most hilarious point of it flipping is when it magically flips as his face is being squished against horse cock.

I think people kinda mistake more detail as better art, in all honesty I wouldn't have batted an eye at this comic if i didnt pick up the expressive style. When it comes to "femboy" comics, they all mash together as very samey samey design wise and it just blends all together. Although this one lacks consistency in design, it makes up for in flow and expressiveness. As an artist, we often fall into the problem of making our poses and expressions feel stilted, and this comic obv shows to improve said issue. I'd rather see this artist try something new than to slip in with the crowd, and if they mess up, they can learn from that.

(also lets be honest yall, yall are NOT here to look at the hair consistency, ur lookin at the porn)

Well, the natural kink of this story is embarrassment and friendship culminating in sex. That seems clear to me. But the thing about embarrassing and awkward situations is they need an impetus. Strikes me that the artist figured that TOO many random/unfortunate situations would've stretched credibility, so they chalk it up to being cursed.
I don't think this supernatural role will last very long, this is just 'the unfortunate things that will happen to Olli from here on out have a reason now'

I can't help but feel this exact same effect could've been accomplished with far fewer words. Why not just have the cat coyly in background shots or indicate magical effects? Why not show instead of tell?

I actually like the visual style going here, but it's being kind of ruined by a lot of what seems to be poorly unnecessary exposition.

The truly sad part is I'm a big fan of this comic. It's cute, I like it being cute, the horse is 10/10 for me. It's always weird when someone is making a good thing, but you want to criticize one aspect of it. Sometimes artists will lurk these places (not sure about lost-paw) for more honest feedback than they get elsewhere, so who knows. The honest feedback I'd give here is along the lines of "You really could do the same thing without having Cat explain the plot five times over".

Example, just have goatboy get a creepy feeling when they first met. Then have him show up again as the receptionist behind Olli. Things like that. You can imply the whole reason behind a story because everyone would pretty obviously pick up on "The cat is sus". You could also, visually, have him trip a character or result in "accidental" nudity of someone, etc. The repetition of it alone would deliver the message without needing to explain a 50 page backstory.

What I'm saying is that in comics, especially, actions and visual expressions are what drive them best. Not WORDWORDSWORDSWORDSWORDSWORDSWORDS.

That's fair. I think a good way to do it is to assume they do read these and also imagine you're signing your comments with your full name. You can still criticize an aspect of something you enjoy, and also you can find a way to phrase it that isn't destructive.

So much this. ESPECIALLY because it's so fuckn easy to convey that someone is "a cheshire cat". Have their face obscured in shadows when the protagonists turn around and have him flash the cheshire smile. It's universal and it's *that* easy. You'd save yourself and your readers 3 tomes of clunky expository dialogue, and I feel like it would fit a loki-like character way more than having him discuss his plans at length with his subjects

Oh yeah. It's been pretty obvious for a while that it may very well be that, and it's been amusing to watch people really try and ignore/skate around it, or just not genuinely realizing that's what's happening despite what has been said in the actual text.

Either way this has been great, and the only way if it could turn me off it is if it was a "trap" situation, where Ollie is actually female gender identifying and masquerading as a male gendered ID. That shit ain't on.

Why do these characters' personalities keep pulling 180s? Literally on the last page Olli was being a flirtatious tease but suddenly turns into a nervous wreck from... going down the water slide they were going to go down anyway? Clover hasn't had a consistent character the entire time. He's not being "multifaceted" so much as he's being schizo. And the Cheshire cat controlling everything is just straight up creepy; his presence turns the comic from a bunch of funny horny coincidences into basically sexual assault.

Kemono isn't an analog to pateon. Whoever was updating their kemono page stopped some time back. The patreon has the end page posted back near the end of July. Along with the cover page and the first three works in progress pages for the sequel/part 2 those went up last August. September they had medical issues with multiple appointments and then in November they announced a change up to the format and a possible retcon, and for December they announced that they were essentially being forced out of their living situation, and posted a link for donations (currently sitting at 85% of their goal) to help with a down-payment on a place. And that was their last pateon update.
