I realized something going forward.
With this chapter in place, you really don't need the first four.
Like think about it:
Everything having to deal with Johnathan has now been resolved, and even if newcomers have no idea what the problem was, it kinda doesn't matter because Elias doesn't have a personality, so he was always going to accept Johnathan regardless of what happened. And Tyson isn't allowed much of a say in what happens in the house, so his opinion about Johnathan doesn't matter either. Like, seeing Tobias invite him over to the house without consulting his husband really sets up that it didn't matter so much matter how Johnathan's redemption arc played out, no one was really going to hold him to anything. So going forward, you might as well forget that it even happened.
It's not even going to have any real effect on Johnathan, seeing as he's just going to dismiss everything as what he did 'back then', of which, it's kinda ironic that he doesn't really atone for anything. His mother dies, everyone's sad, he apologized and...that's it. So outside how Tobias picked Elias up from the orphanage, quite literally, nothing about the other four chapters matter in the slightest.
Tobias and Tyson's sex lives haven't really changed or gotten more adventurous than normal, like literally, they're fucking in the same position in the same spot, so them being married or not doesn't really matter to the story. Elias has no emotion, mental, or psychological problems, so he probably won't grow into an active character that needs to go through a character arc. So he won't matter in the end. And Johnathan's life...isn't really all that important.
I mean think about, what do we know about Johnathan's personal life? There's a picture of him fucking a girl, and...it can be assumed that his girlfriend, but it really puts into question how much she factors into his life, because she's never shown up in this comic, so we can assume that she's not a real focus for his growth. And worse off, she just lets him be an asshole while with her? That never came up, that never caused a rift between them, that never had an effect on Johnathan's drinking?! I mean, what on earth does she do for him beside raise her tail?
I'm now curious about her deal, if she isn't just a fling Maririn drew just to give the suggestion that Johnathan is straight, or maybe bisexual? Since...that thing with him and his brother and the subtext that went along with that earlier on when they were in school happened and never really got resolved.
