whoah whoah wait a second, so the last comic retconned that Kane wasn't Kabs biological dad and just her mom's current BF all so they could make Kane and Kabier with her new design fuck because it's not incest. They even had Kane kick Kabier out of the club for trying to sneak in as her old design where she's like "Ugh such a dick, I'm glad my mom dumped you" But now the photo's in the background show Kane has practically raised Kabier her entire life and even with the retcon of not being her biological father also been married to the mum mom's husband.

1261 members at 4954 a month at the moment of checking it means the average patron is spotting them about 4 bucks a month, a portion of which goes to patreon. I genuinely don't see an issue should they decide to take a break. Same goes for any other artist.

Even then, patronizing an artist isn't "I'm paying you so you make artwork for me." So much as "I'd like to support what you do in the hopes that you continue to do it since making art freelance doesnt exactly pay consistently." That kind of mindset works great for a retail or other mass produced job, but not really anywhere else; You can stock a shelf consistently every day for years and it's fine. A little drudging, but not something that requires as much mental health, which is another can of worms.... But artwork and other such craft based things don't work that way. An artist isn't working for you just because you handed them a dollar in this kind of relationship, you are just helping them make art by making sure they can keep the lights on. Making it into a relationship in which you threaten to leave if the artist doesn't constantly produce on your schedule just causes undue stress and can make it even harder.

I'll be honest, the more I hear about them, the less I like them as people, but I really also hate this growing "patrons own the artists they promote." mentality. It's gross.

Yeah, the art is a notable downgrade from the previous one. Usually Kab's comics start out looking good before slowly getting worse, but this one seems half-assed from the beginning, sick excuse or not.

(It's worth noting that Jason and Kab used to hire people to help with the art a few years back. Probably stiffed on payment like always if it seems Kabier's back to doing all the work.)

it definitely is, but it still doesn't make sense. idk, normally i don't really care about the complaints about the writing and story of kabier/jasonafex comics because i think they're really hot, but this is an instance where i think they were just extremely lazy/careless and forgot the setup.

they originally set up a bet where bryant would get to fuck verge if he won, and if bryant lost, he'd have to just do verge's laundry for a week or something. and then in the next page, bryant wins the round and kane says something about bryant practicing at the game so that this bet would be rigged, basically. but then all the following pages have bryant lose and then still... get to rim verge...? and now he's saying that bryant is throwing...? as if the authors forgot that bryant *losing* the bet means he *doesn't* get to fuck verge, all in the span of 2 pages...?

the vergence incest stuff is really hot though so i don't know if i even care all that much, still though, if the very outline and premise of the storyline is being forgotten and retconned on a page-by-page basis and we're less than 9 pages into the comic, i'd kinda honestly prefer it if there was no attempt at story at all, and it was just like... random dirty talk from bryant and kane and verge...

also, i reread it, no, this line also just flat out doesn't make sense on a semantic level. "Throwing" a bet or a game means that you're losing intentionally/not trying to win. "Looks like you win-- starting to think you're throwing on purpose" literally doesn't make sense-- how can you be throwing if you're winning continuously???
