I’ve had a lot of ideas on the back burner for a while now, and I’ve decided to start a comic about my character Jim Rat. People have been asking for it for a long time, and I admit it’ll be kind of fun to draw something upbeat and horny after working on a serious drama for so long. I’m going to keep doing YCH auctions for the next few weeks, and while I do I’ll probably be posting concepts and teasers for my next comic. Once the Jim Rat comic starts I’ll probably do things exactly the way I did before, with the one obvious exception being that I won’t be putting incest pairings on my reward theme polls anymore.

I hope you’ll all enjoy my next project. Even though I’m disappointed that I have to put Wilson on hold, I’m still excited to start on something new.

From a storytelling perspective these kind of flashbacks are used to introduce characters that will get in the comic later. So my bet is on the fact that Toucan Sam will get back at some point. And knowing the classic route Anti-dev takes here this is my prediction.

-Tripp turns Cybin down. Probably in a bit of a rude way that is completly uncalled for, which lays the base for some arguments later
-Work continues and at some point someone pushes Tripp to ask Jim out of he really likes him (I would love to see bossman turtle be the one to do that)
-Jim is surprised that Tripp wants to ask him out for real as he is used to people se him just as a piece of meat.
-Either they go out and Jim tells Tripp his background story on how he became a pornstar which is loaded with the same kind of heavyness as Tripps failed relation. Or we see a flashback on Jim first and then they go out.
-Jim and Tripp make some progress in their lovelife as Jim really feels what is is if someone care about you. But it does come at the cost at work as Jim get's to distracted by Tripp to much. Which annoyes everyone but mister Swift the most.
-This last one might be more specific and can be swapped for any reintroduction. Mister swift talks to the couple, say he is happy for both of them but something has to change if they want to continue so he hired a new fluffer, which is Toucan Sam (aka size queen Bill)

One of Anti_dev's unfinished comic. Long story short, it's a sequel to the Brogulls comic featuring the father Wilson as the main character in Chapter 1 trying to watch porn on his laptop until it got a virus and ended up calling the technical support. Until Chapter 2 started and we move on to a new character where Wilson is not the main character. This chapter did a complete 180 all of a sudden.

Personally, I think you're just trying to find a villain for the comic when one doesn't exist. There are just some times in life where people are just a straight shooter with no ulterior motives because there's no time for it later in life.

Your arguments are all based on page 98 with Cybin saying that one line like they just magically setting up a trap.

Instead, let me present a few details from even before part 2.

-On page 15 - Cybin and Trip meet for first time, Cybin explicitly says nice to have young blood. Cybin's age can be debated as not referenced nor the age difference between the two. At worse, Cybin speaks of having 'young blood around here for a chance' from the stand point of having worked there for a while.

-Page 25, Cybin was already talking about current Jim Rat liking to stay "in character" / Cybin was already giving Tripp the benefit of the doubt as knowing how the industry works. Also, while further alluding to having been around the block a while to add to Cybin's older age / more work experience possibility.

-Page 69, nice, you can definitely make a case for any arguments side, but Cybin seems happy that Tripp will be kept around as Mr. Swift likes their work. For the photography skill or big penis, sure take your pick.

-Setting up for page 98, pages 95 and 96, Cybin lets Vox speak their mind dropping all the "now obvious" cues about the current 'Jim Rat' being a fake/not real spoiled model

-Page 97 - last panel, It's clearly showing you that both Cybin AND Vox have just realized that Tripp doesn't know about the whole Jim Rat as a character concept. This clicks for Cybin/Vox after bantering that 'Jim Rat' was the sexual awakening in page 94 on the way to get the photo.

-Now we arrived at your page 98. Personal I think the most important panel is the first one. Vox being Vox thinks it'll be great to tell Mr. Swift as in, "this kid doesn't actually know how this industry works" / Cybin however, telling Vox to not do it as in to spare Tripp any chance that Mr. Swift will reconsider keeping them around as seems like a 'good fit' for the production team. aww. I gotta hand it to Dev; I didn't think he'd be able to bring it back from feeling like cringe, but he did a good job with it. Jim is a really empathetic guy, always bringing himself to level with Tripp whenever he fumbles, never immediately attacking him for showing weakness or being wrong about something. And Tripp being able to express shock over how he idolized someone for the image they project and never wanting to see the person underneath the mask, then feeling regret and remorse over it is really good. It's a very human thing he did, for lack of a better phrase. And it's something that Jim seems ready to forgive him for, and that forgiveness will at least open the door to Tripp being able to forgive himself, cuz I think I know how much Tripp would beat himself up over what he's done here.
