Honestly, not very good choices for a comic. One character we cared about, Cobby (sympathetic and helpful, but died too fast for us to really get to know him), and one we did not care about at all, Zudrec (condescending asshole who refuses to listen and thinks everyone not from his country is just a savage).
One half of the leads is just a prick that makes us roll our eyes and given his attitude when he appeared in Captive, we already know he's not going to really change his opinions of non-cragenwall people, the only thing that will change about him is that he'll at best consider Cobby "one of the good ones."
And while seeing more of Cobby would have been nice, the fact that he's entwined with that asshole makes it less appealing and he's actually pretty annoying here. His flippant attitude and constant mistakes makes him look more like a pest and it actually kind of makes his upbeat personality in Captive more annoying because it retroactively makes it less that he's trying to remain positive in a rough situation where making mistakes can kill him and stay on the good side of his captors and more like he's being an idiot again and not reacting like a normal person to his situation (though going back, he does have more moments where he treats things seriously in Captive, but here his upbeat attitude is flanderized). He's just very obnoxious in this comic.
