I said it before and I will say it again. if they introduced Coal, Alexander and Charr after Elias has grown up more (like around 16 or 17) then Tyson and Tobias would have time to strenghten their marriege, learning eachother boundries and Coal and Elias might have built a friendship (or a relationship for the shippers)
Now, it feels like Charr is forcing itself into a very fresh and very frigile marriege. How much time would their have been between Tyson and Tobias adopting Elias and the recent event with Charr? Half a year? Maybe a year max? Way to early to introduce a dominant character like Charr.
Charr kinda feels like a guy that secretly wishes he still was in the closet so he could air to the world he date woman and treat them like shit. I remember someone saying that Charr makes it feels like he wants to convince Tobias to the 'the men' of the relationship' while Tyson should be treated like 'the woman' very old fashion way of thinking. Tyson and Tobias were very good astablished with personalities and personal trades. Charr kinda saw them as their personal molding clay.
And can we talk about Elias for a second? In the original storyline I felt like Elias was suppost to be a secondairy main character that would take over after his father's story was told? Like when he might reaches the age of 18 the story would slowely pan to him and focus more on his struggles with his dads as his support (Almost wanted to say 'moral support' but in a post grooming timeline that might not be the best choose of words). But now Elias feels like a side character. Because Charr was forced upon us as the new person of interest Maririn doesn't know what to do with Elias anymore. I believe you can remove Elias from the comic post Chapter 6 and nothing has to chance in the story. Even Alexsander has more of a personality then Elias has now. And why is that. Because being an orphan that suddenly got adopted by rich gay parents was Elias' whole personality. He didn't had time to grow or develop any personal trades. And if you disagree I dare you to name one comic panel after chapter 5 that shows any of Elias' personality. His hobby's his intrests, heck even if it's establish in comic if he is bi or gay.
Then, my last part of rant. Jonathan. Man he has been done DIRTY. Here is a personal story to hopeful get my point across a bit better. I'm gay and I always knew my dad would struggle with that. Did I blame him for that, no. He accepted, we never talk about it. But I accept him not knowing how to handle himself around it And that is the same thing I have with this new Jonathan. In a world where gay people are accepted (which I'm happy for) I notice that your almost required to accept when someone is gay. And when you speak yourself out as being uncomphy people are quick to label you are homophibic. The idea of a family member struggling with his brother being gay (Specially after that story where Jonathan started to bully his brother to fit in) sounds very interesting to me. It could open up new storylines and perspectives. But now, just like with Elias, Maririn doesn't know how to handle Jonathan. It's a character she had plans for but because she had to redo everything. With Karmakats fan comic it feels like she just grasps whatever she can.
Also... what the hell happened to Tobias' family? There was this very touching story in Chapter 3 where Jonathan and Tobias' bounded after their mother passed. But what about their dad? They are so preoccupied with being Charr's harem they shoved the men into a retirement home or something (Also, please don't remind Maririn of this. Otherwise maybe Tobias' and Tyson' dad also end up in Charr's little harem. I really can see Karmakat forcing those two elder men to fuck to)
So, yeah. That was it. I have the feeling after the grooming idea came out the story completly derailed and fell into a black hole. I bet if Maririn had to redo chapter 1-3 Elias might even be earased.
