Actually you are both wrong. Zourik based each Samurotts fighting style in this comic from the dex entry of Dewotts from BW2 to ORAS, he just added a bit of anime flare is all. In the dex entry it states that each Dewott learns a different form of fighting of using it scalchops. All Zourik did was give each Samurott a different fighting style they settled on when they were Dewotts before evolving to Samurott. It's why Coah Samurotts uses spears of scalchops
while the brothers sticked to their sword scalchops. He just wanted all 3 of them to be a bit different for anime flare based on Dewotts dex entry.
